Tonight while on the internet looking at a genealogical site in
Itawamba, Mississippi, I think I really amazed myself--that an A.
Cockrell married Margaret Hitson 9 Apr. 1846, & that the wedding
ceremony was performed by a J.G. Conwill. The fact that A. Cockrell
married Margaret Hitson on 9 Apr. 1846 matches what I already had in my
notes.
Also at the Mississippi site, there was an E.L. Cockrell who served in
the Civil War. I do no know who E.L. Cockrell was, but this was found
in the Itawamba County, Mississippi Civil War Records.
This Itawamba County, Mississippi, site was found at
http://www.network-one.com/~ithissoc/index.html. I found this a very
helpful site indeed.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

I will be out of town for some time and would appreciate being removed from
the list. As a compuserve member, I have changed my E-mail address so that
I can't use the automatic process.
My old address was: 72110.1017(a)compuserve.com
My new address is: WLyles(a)compuserve.com
I still get E-mail directed to the old address, just can't send it.
Thanks
