Hi Doreen,
I finally found a Coburn that is in Decendants of Edward Colburn/Coburn -
1635-1913.
I don't know how many have this book.. but it has been a God-send to
me:) I found Micah E. Coburn.. but it is stated
differently in the book. If you are interested then I can send you what I
have.. The book reads Elbridge Colburn, with the same info you had given
us:)
Sincerely,
Dee Coburn

I am researching my Coburns of Ontario, Canada. My GGGrandfather John
Coburn (1847-1941) married Martha Spillet; they lived and are buried
in Cookstown, Ontario.
I am interested in hearing from anyone with ties to Simcoe County, and
to the Coburns/Coborns of that area.
Regards,
Michele Potter
Looking for more information on ancestry of James Headly Coburn. Any help
is greatly appreciated.
James Headly Coburn was born Jan 4, 1848 in Lauderdale Co., AL and died
October 18, 1934 in Lonoke Co., Arkansas when a team of mules he was driving
bolted, throwing him from the wagon which then ran over him and fractured
his skull. He is buried in Tomberlin Cemetery in Lonoke County.
Headley's parents were Charles Cockburn (b. abt. 1810 in NC) and Elizabeth
Barnes. Somewhere down the line the spelling was changed.
He married first, Martha June Mayes, August 6, 1865 and had the following
children: Mary Lue, May 26, 1866; Robert E., Oct 15, 1869; Eliza Permealia,
July 8, 1872; Agnes Elizabeth, April 25, 1876; and Lydia A., Oct. 9, 1878.
His wife, Martha, died February 18, 1879 in Colbert Co., AL and James
married Julia Fuery/Fiery/Fureigh on December 21, 1879 and they had the
following children: Mattie Bell, Oct. 23, 1881; James Franklin, Feb. 3,
1884; John Thomas, Nov. 18, 1885; Minnie L., July 10, 1889; Sallie S., Jan.
22, 1892; Edna E., Dec. 11, 1893; Margrette I., Feb. 7, 1895; Charles
Sidney, April 6, 1897; Jerry and Joel, (twins), Sep. 13, 1899; Julia H.,
July 21, 1902. James had three other sons who died at birth and were not
named. After the death of his second wife, Aug. 20, 1910, James married
Etha Elizabeth Poteet.
Thanks,
Kim
