Hannah COBLEY, my husband's g-g-grandmother, was tried at Leicester Quarter
Sessions on 3 Jan 1843 charged with felony (stealing a sovereign from my
master, he kept an Inn) and transported to Tasmania. Hannah stated her
native place as Maxey, Northamptonshire, and that she had sisters Ann and
Harriett and that Ann married in Rutland.
On the IGI I found parents Perkins COBLEY and Mary and the following
children all born Maxey:
Harriett bap 6 Jul 1817, Anna bap 11 Mar 1819, Eliza bap 25 Dec 1820, Samuel
bap 18 Aug 1822 and Daniel bap 14 May 1824.
Is our Hannah the Anna bap 1819, or is that the Ann who married in Rutland?
Any help to sort out this problem, or information on the above family, would
be appreciated.
Beverley Cooen

Noel Cobley was born in about 1924 and had 2 brothers Cyril and Leslie. Noel was the son of Jack(John)Cobley of Ashton in Wigan and had 2 shops in Wigan Centre. I know noel cobley also had at least one son possibly more, but don,t know where he is living now 9or even if he is still alive. I also think that he married more than once. Any news gratefully accepted. Thank you.
