Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello Joyce,
What a surprise to see I'm still on this Cobley list - I didn't know it was
still in existence! Anyway - it's nice to hear from you. I hope all is well with
you and your family. I also hope the other Cobley list is still thriving - I
don't feel I can return yet until I have something of a Cobley nature to
contribute, but regards to everyone anyway.
I'm still in touch with Margaret Beard.
My New Year's Resolution - to find the source of the Bristol Cobleys - well, I
live in hopes anyway.
Good wishes, including wishes for a peaceful New Year.

Sue
I had my lists mixed up a bit, sorry about that. As far as I know you and I
are the only members of the rootsweb Cobley list. If I am wrong and there are
other members out there please let me know by posting a message.
I belong to another Cobley list on Yahoo groups and that is the list that has
a lot of members from the UK on it. Cobley being a somewhat more common name
over there than here in the USA. The two members from the east coast are on
the Yahoo list also. You can join that list by going to Yahoo groups and
looking for the Cobley group.
I started this rootsweb list a couple of years ago and for some reason it has
never taken off. Your message is the only one I've ever received on it. The
Yahoo list is very active most of the year and has members from all over the
world. I have found distant cousins who are gt. grandchildren to my gt.
grandfather's brother in Australia and other cousins that are a little more
removed in Wales.
Thanks for using this list and letting me know it's still in existence.

Hi Sue
Good to have another new member to our list. It sounds like you know where a
lot of these people were living as of March 02. Have you tried looking them
up in the white pages online? You might be able to call some of them and find
answers to most of your questions.
I know there are a couple of members on the list that live in the eastern
states so maybe they will recognize some of your folks. When you trace them
back to when they came to the states there are a lot of people on the list in
the UK that will help you figure out where exactly in England or Wales your
Cobleigh's come from.
Mine orginally came from Somerset, Eng. to Wales and then to PA. and CO. and
presently CA.
Good luck, Joyce
Hi List,
I am doing research on the Cobleigh family of Tyngsboro and Westford,
Middlesex County, MA. I am starting with just the children of one marriage
at the moment. They had 13 children.
I am trying first to find the marriage date of Frank E. COBLEIGH to Anna
BURTON. I believe they were married in Tyngsboro shortly after the census
was taken in Apr. of 1920 as Frank is still living at home with his parents,
George H. and Elsie M. Cobleigh on Kendall Rd. in Tyngsboro.
Frank and Anna had 13 children. This is the information I have, mostly
taken from the 1930 census and an obituary.
David b. after 1930 Living in Westford as of March 5, 2002.
Elsie b. after 1930 Married to George Wyman and living in Westford. They
own/run Wyman's Beach Campground.
Gerald b. after 1930 Living in Florida as of March 5, 2002.
Janice b. after 1930 Married to a Taylor and living in Nashua, NH as of
March 5, 2002.
Raymond E. b. after 1930 Living in Tewksbury as of March 5, 2002.
Robert b. after 1930 living in Westford as of March 5, 2002.
Russell b. Sept. 27, 1932 d. Oct. 1983 in Westford.
Frank, Jr. b. Nov. 11, 1921 d. March 5, 2002. Married Rita LeBlanc 1945.
Gladys b. 1922 Living in Wichita, Ks. as March 5, 2002. Married to an
Anderson.
Dorothy E. b. 1923. Living in Chelmsford as of March 5, 2002. Married to a
Hutchinson.
Muriel b. June 1925. Died before March 2002. Married to a Gilpatrick. Was
living in Westford.
Maurice/Morris b. Nov. 1926. Living in Florida in March 2002.
And finally-
James D. b. March 1930 Living in Nashua, NH as of March, 2002.
I would love to know spouses, missing dates of births and marriages and any
known children.
I only have information on Frank, Jr. and his family. I have some pictures
and I would love to have someone in the family identify the people. I think
I know 4 out of 8 people in the photo.
Thanks for all your time and hope Santa was real nice to everyone this year.
