Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Dear Family,
I am now connected to the rootsweb list.My mistake was putting spaces where they weren't needed.
Hope this runs smoothley, and we all connect to just one list to save confusion.I am missing the contacts with you all, and the information that builds .
Has anyone heard how Gretchen is?
Mardi
My last message addressed to both Listbot and Rootsweb appeared promptly in my box,
from both Lists.

I have subscribed to the Rootsweb List as you requested Joyce. The email address to
which people should subscribe is just COBLEY-L-request(a)rootsweb.com with no forward
slash at the end. I sent the message with nothing typed in the Subject box. I
received a prompt reply to say I had been added to the List.
It would be a good idea if everyone subscribed to Rootsweb as soon as possible, so we
can find out if there are any problems before Listbot closes.

I had hoped that rootsweb might be easy but now I'm not to sure. They sent me
four pages of instructions on how to run the list.
The basics are to subscribe send an email to COBLEY-L-request(a)rootsweb.com/
put the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the email. To unsubscibe use the same
address and put the word UNSUBSCRIBE in the body of the email. To send emails
to the list use the address COBLEY-L(a)rootsweb.com
I have belonged to many of these rootsweb lists and on the whole have been
happy with them. Anyone can join, you don't have to be invited. Being that
Cobley is a fairly unique name I don't think the list will become to large.
I hope you will all join so we can stay in contact. I think it's worth a try.
Take care, L. Joyce
