Hello, I too have "Coble"/Cauble, ect., ect... ancestors/relatives. "Coble" has deviated much over the past few hundred years. Some of my Coble ancestors [from the same family] would sometimes use the spelling Cauble/Cable, ect., ect... [& I've seen no less than 7 different spellings for the "Coble" surname thus far. I believe the most common derivation/deviation from Coble is Cauble. You may want to check these surname message boards as well: Fisher/Fischer, Brown, Ashley, McBride, Riddle, Ratliff, Brashear[s], Jernigan, Chastain, Coward, Ward, Martin, Morgan, Griffin, Fuller, and others as well.
Good luck
Marshall
