wow, it is interesting hearing about the decendants of John Angstadt. Would love to hear more about him and read the book when published. I know John Angstadt was an infantryman in the Civil War. 205th regiment. I have a picture of him circa 1910 (I belive a yr before his death)with my Grandfather, Angstadt Ream. Both had Civil War uniforms on. It must have been some sort of memorial event.
My Grandfather was very much into the Civil War. His interest was sparked by John Angstadt no doubt. The death of John's brother George in Andersonville as a POW struck them deeply.

Hello William,
Great to hear from you. Your grandmother's name was Mary Electra Angstadt Coble. I have a portrait of her that I can send to you (don't have your email address). According to the census records, in 1920, David Coble was living on Washington St. in E-town. In 1930 He was living in Mishawaka, IN with his new 28 year old wife, Willa Mellinger Coble (he was 61), his 3 year old son, and his 49 year old mother-in-law. In 1940, he was still living in Indiana, but now with his daughter, Naomi Kemerer (Daisy's sister) and his grandson, Phillip. My aunt Marie said that Willa died in childbirth of their second child. Marie remembersseeing the open casket with Willa holding the child. I would love to find out more of his life in Indiana. --Paul
