Hello, family (maybe). I am looking for some information on Sellia Marcelos Coble, who married a Thomas Jefferson York. I think she was born in 1851 and died in 1922 in Smith County, Texas. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Thanks.

My grandfather was Peter D. Coble from Dallas County, MO; his father was: John C. Coble married to Mary Elizabeth Underhill.
You may wish to contact Jay Gentry as he has researched this line. Contact me offsite to obtain his email address.

Martin, I hope you get lots of replies. Unfortunately, as a woman, my test
results would contribute little. The Germanna Foundation in Culpepper, Va.
is starting to do a DNA group of the first two colonies of Germans to come
to Virginia. 1714 and 1717. Members of the second colony came from the
same general area the Cobles emigrated.
One member, Michael Holt, eventually settled in Orange County, N.C. along
with his sons. My grandmother's family goes directly back to Anthony Coble.
Her grandmother was a Nellie Holt, descendent of Michael's son, Francis.
There was much intermarriage between the Germans in the Guilford/Alamance
settlers in the 18th century. You might find the results of the Germanna
tests to be of interest in case you don't get many to participate in the
Coble test. Good luck. My son has participated in a family group testing,
but it's of a Scots-Irish family of the same vintage. p.nesbit
