Jacob I. Looney as her father. Sorry about that.

Patricia,
Thanks for the info on the DNA testing. I will call ancestry and see what
they have.
My Samuel Coble was born abt 1828/29 in TN/AL. I have seen both. He was
married to Elizabeth Looney, dau of Jesse Looney, and had 2 children, one in
Tishimingo Co, MS and a daughter in Arkansas. I do not know what happened to
his wife. I have not been able to find anything on her. He married a 2nd
time to Elizabeth Jane Wright, dau of Thomas Baber Wright & Mary Ann
McClendon Hunter, in Sevier Co., Ar. and had 2 children with her. She is
buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Little River County, Arkansas but have never
found him. She is widowed in the 1880 Census. So, I feel I can't go any
further until I can find another family member somewhere or Samuel's father.
I have 4 Aunt's still living and they could possibly be my answer.
Thanks for your help.
Judy

Judy, I am interested in your Samuel Coble. Is this the Samuel Coble who
died about 1862, son of David, grandson of Anthony? He was married twice
and I have never seen a list of his children by his first wife whose name
was something like Burchett Jenkins, I believe. I descend from a daughter
by his second wife, Nelly Holt. (Nancy Harriet Coble Bennett, Samuel's
daughter by Nelly J. Holt) He held land in southeast Guilford and Alamance
counties. Any information you can share would be appreciated. There is a
female DNA test. It goes from daughter to mother. p.nesbit

Hello Martin,
It is always exciting to find the DNA matches. My dad did one for the Wade
family and his mother is a Coble. None of her brothers had children so our
Coble line died. Her father was John Hunter Coble, son of Samuel Coble. He
had a son with his first wife who had daughters. Isn't there a way a female
could be tested?
Thanks,

Subject: [COBLE] Coble DNA match
Hello all,
I would like to announce my first Coble, Y chromosome, genetic match. His
name is Michael Coble and he's lives near Washington DC. He is originally
from Mr. Airy NC, and his Coble roots go back to Randolph County At first
Michael wasn't at all sure that his family was related to the rest of the
Cobles of North Carolina, but the DNA makers tell the tale.
After a little digging we determined that he is descended from Eli Coble &
wife Kizzie Lowe who are probably the ancestors of most if not all the
Cobles of Randolph County. Eli moved to Randolph from the area around Snow
Camp NC, after marrying Kizzie Lowe.
My ancestor John, Eli's brother, married Kizzie's sister Betsy Lowe. So our
common ancestor is David, father of John and Eli who was the son of Hans
George Kobel, one of 4 brothers who came to NC from Pennsylvania, and who
was born in Germany.
It would be great to have more data to compare. If we could build up a
genetic profile of all 6 of the Pioneer Cobles (the 4 brothers and two
brothers who were 1st cousins of the 4), it would really help those who
can't make the connection via a paper trail. At the least it would tell them
in which direction to focus their research.
So I encourage all the male Coble's out there to get a genetic DNA test.
Family Tree DNA is having a sale til Dec 31st.
All questions or comments welcome,
Thanks
