Hello List,
I'm trying to confirm some connections in my family line. My line comes from
Daniel Cortner/Curtner born 1763, (son of George Cortner born 1738) from
Guilford County, North Carolina who settled in Butler Township, Montgomery
County, Ohio. This will be posted on multiple listings.
Daniel married to Catherine Coble Born 1758.

Death: in Butler Twp, Montgomery Co, OH
Burial: Old Lutheran Church Cem, Montgomery Co, OH
Father: Antonius "Anthony" COBLE b: 24 AUG 1717 in Hoffenheim, Sinsheim,

Two of Daniel and Catherine’s children married a Staley and both families
later moved from Montgomery County to Shelby County, Ohio:

Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.
Mary Curtner/Cortner born 1788, North Carolina married Levi Staley July 8,
1813 Butler Township, Montgomery County, Ohio.
In trying to tie Sophia Staley. I found her to be a daughter of Joseph
Staley born 1 Sep 1780 of North Carolina and died 6 Aug 1867 Butler Township,
Montgomery County, Ohio. Joseph buried in Polk Grove Cemetery, same Township.
Local records show Joseph Staley married an Elizabeth Gallahan, born in Virginia

Posted information has Joseph married to:

Some postings have Catherine Coble (wife of Joseph Staley) death as
about1830. I can’t don’t have proof of this.
Now in the Old Stillwater Lutheran Church Cemetery of which most stones are
gone has this one entry: STALEY, ________wife of Joseph Staley died Sept 13,
1816 aged 29 yrs 6 months 10 days This would make her birth as March 3, 1787.
Please let me know what your opinion is. I will cover Levi Staley in another
posting.
