I found Flourney E. Coble's US Marine Corps Muster Roll, showing Muster date of Dec. 1940, enlistment date 15 Nov. 1839. His station was Marine Barracks, Naval Operating Base, Norfolk, VA. On the actual Muster Roll, under remarks, it shows 17, Jdfr Navy Bldg. Guard, HQMC, Washington, D.C., and FFT, FMB, FMF, NS, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I don't know what all those initials mean, but maybe you can find an old swabby to explain them.
I alos found a 1930 Huntsville, Madison Co., AL. census showing John H. Coble, age 39, wife Olive R. 34, sons Howard B., 17, John H., Jr., 12, Flournoy E., age 11, and William G., 6, but they were all born in TN. Also listed is a Johnni Robertson, age 26, a boarder, born in Alabama. Don't know if this is the right family. Didn't find anything on the 1920 census

Hello, I'm searching for any family information on Flourney E Coble. I understand he was born in Pulaski, West Virginia. He was in the Marines and enlistment date is November 15, 1939. His year of birth is approximately 1919. Any information is greatly appreciated.
I am the daughter of Joyce Marie Coble, born 10/19/1942.
Thank you!

I did a quick check in the Coble book. Noticed that (my) Anthony Coble,
son of Johann George Coble, immigrant, had a son (my) David who married a
Philipena Troxler. ( There are mistakes in the Coble book.) A son John
married three times it says. Daughter Barbara Coble, born Sept. 27, 1796,
died March 20, 1820 married Jacob Troxler, born Oct. 19, 1763 and died Dec.
12, 1854 and it goes on and on with lots of Troxler information. I gather
that you have this information. If anyone shares anecdotes, please post
them on the Coble site so all can share. p.nesbit
