Thanks for the advice. The actual line for me is SILER, with marriage into the COBLE line. Several folks have been very kind to share info for both families.

Hello Wayne,
Go to Ancestry.com and type in a search for Charles M. Coble and you will find two entries for your Charles who married Bertha Siler. You will be amazed at how far back your Coble line goes.
Best of luck,
Cousin Jim
Hi,
There are Cobles at Friedens but also Cables. At some
point in time there was a slight name change with my
line of Cobles. It shows up with my fifth great
grandfather Jacob Coble/Cable and his wife, Suzanne.
Hope this helps someone.

I visited Coble's Lutheran Church in SE Guilford County a couple of weeks ago and the cemetery is filled with Coble's. Nearby churches...Low's and The Brick Church also have early Cobles and Frieden's a bit to the north will probably hve some. You can purchase the Guilford County, N.C. Cemetery book for eastern or SE Guilford from the Guilford Genealogy Assoc. Thy their website for a list of publications. You can also purchase a Coble Family History from the Battle of Alamance Creek Battlefield...state park. The May family is also found in Guilford and Alamance Counties and there are many Coble's in Alamance County. You can check with the Alamance County Historical Assoc. for the Coble Book. There are possible errors and it is hard to follow, but it does begin with the first Coble settlers to come to Guilford/Alamance formerly Orange County. Good luck. ptn
