Looking for the family of Bartholomew and Mary Ann (Walter), Daniel and Mary Barbara/Mary Ann (Welcker), and John and Catherine(Kaufmann) Cobole who came to the American Colonies with 500 other German and Swiss ironworkers about 1764 to build and operate the iron furnaces at Long Pond, NJ. Recruited and worked for Peter Hasenclever. Known as the Hasenclever Germans. Most were Catholic.

Message Board Post:
Frederick,
If you found the info on Bartholomew and Mary Ann Walter
in the Goshenhoppen Records, the reference is to Long Pond in Georgia. That section of land in Georgia is now in what is called New Jersey. The reference to Georgia is not the state of Georgia as we know it today but an area between present New Jersey and PA. It is also near Greenwood Lake, NY. Contact Barbara O'Keefe author of "Catholic Trails West" about this section land.
