Subject: McClintock family
Hi Diana, I saw a message of yours regarding John McClintock who married Mary Coble. I have found documentation that shows his father as Robert McClintock and his grandfather as John McClintock (died 1807). John was from Chester County, PA and moved to what was to become Guilford Co., NC in about 1753. I have published a book on 51 different McClintock families. I am selling it for $25.00, which includes postage, it has 701 pages, is indexed and documented.
Take care,
Jack McClintic

Is it near the location of the origional Germanna Colony? Does anyone have
further information on this family? This is all I know prior to his
residence in Guilford County, N.C. where the Glass, Coble and Bennett
families intermarried. Paulus Glass married Marie "Eve" Coble (probably in
N.C.).
> Any additional information anyone can add would be appreciated. My
Germanna connection is with Michael Holt whose gggranddaughter, Nelly Holt,
married a Samuel Coble. The Glass family is connected with their children.
Thank you. PTN

Of particular interest for those of you who descend from Jacob KOBEL who
settled in Schoharie Valley, NY. As you scan the chapters, be sure to look for
spelling variations of his name.

Right you are, in the 1872-77 time period a marriage license was issued to M
A Coble and David Jimmerson. I may have a copy of it in California. The other
license was issued to Nadie Cobel and D J Lutch. It was earlier than Sarah's
and was the one Samuel OK'd. Nadie must have been Harriet N.
I would guess now that George's falling out was with his step-father or older
brother, Wm H.

Jannine, Sarah Abigail lists Illinois as her birth state in the 1860 census.
How did you get the information on Sarah's remarriage and the fact that
Samuel died in 1880? That doesn't check with my grandmother's story of George W.
leaving the farm as a teen. I'm sorry I don't have the wedding license he
approved with me here.

Is anyone researching this family?
Samuel Coble b. 1823 Ohio, married Sarah Abigail McAlyag b. 1832 in Mi. They were in Lee County Illinois in 1850, 1860 LeClaire, Scott Countyand still is Scott County in 1870. In 1880 Samuel had died and Sarah had remarried David Jemerson.
I would love to hear from anyone researching this family
Thanks
Jannine Coble Gregory
I thought I would re-run this for the newcomers. Thanks to Harold Davey and

The following people (mostly German speaking) were naturalized in the
Superior Court at Salisbury, Rowan Co, NC in the 1760's. Many of these
were residents of the western part of Orange County. It seems that
Salisbury was more convenient than Hillsborough. There was probably less
language barrier, also.
There is a typed abstract of the minutes in the Rowan Public Library in
Salisbury. This information came from that abstract. The spelling of
names is as it was in the abstract. The comment in (parentheses) are from
the typed abstract.
