Look for information on these 2 grandfathers. I believe Eli was Alexander's father. Any information would be appreciated.
Zelma wrote: Hi Jean , I have that this Henrich as the grandson of Jacob
Kobel (The one that the town of Cobleskill New York is named for) I got this
information from the National Genealogical Society Quarterly Dec 1981.
Is this info wrong and is Henry a brother to your Casper? Zelma
Hello Zelma and Everyone-
No, Zelma the information that you have on your Henrich Kobel is not wrong.
It is fortunate that those who descend from the Jacob Kobel line have such
solid documentation from the NGS.
My Kobel line was also living in Northumberland County in the same time frame
as the descendants of Jacob Kobel. The names Jacob, Daniel, Henrich and
Frederich are favored names in these families and it took careful sorting
through the church records. I have not established the relationship between
the two families at this time, but I am working on that. Cousins perhaps or
it may go back several generations and link up in Germany. I have seen some
evidence that my line is also traced back to Albrecht, but I have no hard
proof.
Caspar, Daniel, Henrich and Frederich are the sons of Johann Nicholas Kobel
and Sabina ARTZ. Johann Nicholas Kobel was born ca 1705 in Weinheim, Hesse,
Germany. He also had two daughters, Regina and Christina Margaret. His
children were all born in Germany. My line continues through Caspar Kobel
who emigrated in 1750 and settled in Lancaster County before going to Mahonay
Twsp.,Northumberland. Eventually, the subsequent generations lived in
Franklin County, PA. to Ashland/Richland County, Ohio and into Elkhart
County, Indiana. It has taken me many moons to finally establish my
Kobel/Coble line and there is still more work to do. I would welcome hearing
from anyone else working on this line. Let's discuss.

RootsWeb will automatically send any message to the Coble mail list that has
been placed on the Coble Message Board. It's called Gatewaying. The person
who has sent the message most likely is not a member of the Coble mail list.
There are two ways to reply to the query. You can reply directly to the
sender of the query or reply to the Message Board URL. By replying to the
Message Board your reply will then be saved on the Message Board for others

And, Zelma asked of anyone could identify Caspar and Daniel KOBEL.
Caspar, Daniel and Henrich are brothers. Caspar CAAREL and Daniel CABEL came
to PA. together in 1750 on the Ship Brothers. I descend from Caspar Kobel
and his first wife Susanna SCHAFFER whose children were baptized in Cocalico
Twsp., Lancaster County.
After Susanna's death (ca 1765-68) Caspar married twice more and the children
of these marriages were baptized at Himmel's in Northumberland. Does anyone
descend from this line?
Daniel Kobels' wife was Barabra DAUTRICH (no data). I do have the children
of Daniel and Barbara is anyone is interested.
