> Eli J. Coble, who lives four miles south-west of here, was stricken with
paralysis Monday morning about six o'clock and died within an hour. Mr.
Coble had gone to the barn and did not return to the house as soon as was
expected. His son, Alva, went after him and found him lying in an
unconscious condition from which he never recovered. He was born near
Stilesville, Dec. 13, 1834, and was a life-long resident of Hendricks
county. He and Margaret Muer were married in 1856. To them were born five
children, of whom one died in youth. The widow and four children survive
him. They are Walter A. and Alva Coble, Mrs. Ida Peck and Mrs. Lula Cosner.
He was a consistent member of the M.E. church since early manhood. In
politics, he was a Republican, having affiliated with that party since its
organization.

Maybe third try is a charm.Email sending problems-cockpit errors.
Someone had a request about Rundle school located west of Spencer Indiana- really very close to Cuba(Santa Fe).
The alma and Esta were Aunts of mine. All were children of John Riley Coble and Marietta Hendershot. John Riley
s/o David, s/o Peter, s/o John(Saddler John). Picture had to be taken before 1897 as Bessie was born in 1891 and
would have been in 1st grade in 1897 and in Picture (could have been ill that day so not certain).
Thanks to this group and Jannine Gregory who got me started I have a lot more info on my family.
If anyone has more questions on Indiana Coble's I will try to answer. I'm currently trying to determine why/what caused
Peter's death at 37 years, one year after he rode back from Indiana to SC to get the money to buy 80 acres near
Monrovia In. in 1830 then died in 1831. We can't find his grave either-have found Catherine's- Catherine is one who
axed a bear in 1830 while Peter was gone for the money. The story was in Coble Newsletter.
Good Hunting! Darrell Coble
Mary Coble was the d/o Johannes and Maria Barbara Staly they had a son
William b 1801 or 1808 which ever census you want to take. He married Sally
Coble d/o David and Maria Cortner. This William and Sally are buried at
Coble's Lutheran Church.
The brother and sister Wm. and sally are the children of John "Shaddy" Coble
and he is a brother to Mary.
People have gotten the two Williams and Sallys confused for a long time, but
from my research this is true. I don't know who this Mary married, I wish I
did.

Yes, William and Sally are the ones I put a post to the list. They were
brother and sister and children of John "Shaddy" Coble and Sally Shaddy.
Someone sent Sally's will on the list also that talks about these two
children of color in there house.

I have not figured that out yet. Antonius did not name and son Anthony in
his will, but that does not always mean he did not have a son. His birth
day is 1741 which in when Antonius got married and he was born in Pa. I
think he was but I don't have documentation to back this up as of now.
What do you have on this?
