I am looking for info on a Margaret Coble who married a Joseph Nickerson.
Margaret Coble married Joseph Nickerson on 9/19/1819 in
Franklin Co OH and that one of their boys was name Jacob C Nickerson. In and
around that time there was a Jacob Coble who fit the age to be Margaret's
father and the fact that they named another son Arron after Joseph's makes
me think that Jacob could be Margarets father, but I am only guessing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cathy

Dec 12, 1835 D. Coble, A. Coble, P. Coble, G. Coble and E. A. Coble signed a Petition to create a new county for Perry County. I know who everyone is but the E. A. Coble.
Does anyone know who he is?
Thanks

Diana-Perhaps this will explain Hans Georg's birth in Lancaster County in
1734.......
Lancaster County was formed in 1729 from Chester County
York County was formed in 1749 FROM Lancaster.
So, if you are looking for early records for York County you need to look in
Lancaster as well. Some of the early records overlap the 2 counties.
Click on the blue hyperlinks below for some of the best web pages for
Lancaster and York County.

York County but for PA. as well.

This came to me from another list. A rather disturbing thought for those of
us who use GenForum.com Jean
Listers:
I have naively included a link to GenForum for those wishing to post and
respond to Rockingham and Marston surname queries. Furthermore, I have
innocently
posted several responses on those forums. Today, I have amended the link on
Rockingham's Queries Index Page to read as follows:
**If you want still another place to search and post, try the Rockingham
county message board on [ genforum.genealogy.com/nh/rockingham/ ] WARNING!!
Any
information which you share on GenForum's message boards may be copied by
Genealogy.com [FamilyTreeMaker.com] and sold by them for profit either as
data included
on a monthly/annual subscription or as a CD for purchase. Much of this
information is totally unreliable. Caveat emptor [Buyer beware]. In order to
see what, if
any, information Genealogy.com has acquired from your voluntary contributions,
you will first need to subscribe to their service available to paying members
only.**
I am SO angry I could spit!! Until I started checking up on this fiasco
about my father's pedigree, I had NO clue that Genealogy.com was doing this.
I want
to declare WAR! I can't get through to their leaders, but I sure would like
to get through to their potential customers and unwitting voluntary
contributors.
Please feel free to copy and paste [or send] this warning wherever, or to
whomever, you think might do the most good. You may post it as your own
message or
as a quote from me, whichever you prefer. Your help will be greatly
appreciated.

Do you have any idea when this marriage took place?
I believe that Lima is in Columbiana Co., correct? I have had some experience

This entry should make a lot of people happy! Thank you so much Gert for all
your kind help.
This is exactly what sharing and discussing is all about. This week has been
exciting and very eventful, thanks to all the participation going on. Let's
not stop here. Jean
Hans Georg GOBEL, of "Hofheim in the Austrian territories" [Hofheim im
Oesterreichischen], citizen, vassal of the bishop of Speyer, by bad luck
overloaded with debts (wife and children, free of vassalage), had property
of 160 florins, was manumitted to go to his relatives in PA. [zu Verwandten
in Pennsylvanien], 24 Apr 1733. Arrived at Philadelphia on the Ship HOPE,
28 Aug 1733. In the ship list the name is spelled "GOBEL, GABEL, & GOBL"
The father's age is given as 40, the wife Barbara 38, and five children are
listed (Antoni 12, Anna Maria 10, Magdalena 8, Jerg Adam 5, and
Hans Jerg 3 1/2.
A letter to the Editor from Dr. Fritz Braun, Director, Heimatstelle Pfalz,
Kaiserslauter, dated 24 Feb 1970, furnishes additional data on this family.
The town of origin is now Hoffenheim near Sinsheim in Baden. From the
church register of Hoffenheim it appears that there were eleven children in
all: Antonius, b. 24 Aug 1717, Carl Antony, b. 21 Oct 1718, died 26 Aug
1720, Maria Elisabetha, b. 3 Sep 1720, d. 2 Oct 1720., Anna Maria, b. 14 Aug
1721, Georg Balthasar, b. 3 Mar 1723, d. 23 Aug 1724, Maria Magdalena,
b. 1 Jan 1725, Anna Margaretha, b. 23 Mar 1726, d. 28 Feb 1728, Georg
Adam, b. 13 Apr 1727, Hanss Georg, b. 12 Sep 1728, Anna Catharina b.
28 Feb 1730, d. 24 Feb 1733, Maria Dorothea, b. 13 Apr 1732.
That takes care of the Emigrant books that I have.
Gert
This is also contributed by Gert, thank you! Wonderful information in these

Kay, I'm glad someone else found the same thing! On page 11 of that same
book is listed the children of Anthony. Check it out and see if you see the
same thing I do.

I have this Anthony on the census of Randolph County, NC 1800 and by 1816 they were in Montgomery County, Ohio

I thought I would send this documentation to the list for discussion.
It is clear we have a Anthony and an Anthony Jr. now whether this is the Father and Son at this time can not always be clear.
But the Brick Church records clearly states that we had a Anthony having an Anthony.
Just because Anthonius does not mention an Anthony is his will does not always mean he is not his son, he could have already given him what he intended for him to have before he died. I have seen this in genealogy before.
We could be dealing with 3 generations here also.
Look at this and lets see if we can't get this straighten out for once and all (yes, I know that doesn't happen in genealogy)
By the way I have all these land records from Orange County.
The Anthony Coble that married Maria Barbara Summers, was born before 1776 as recorded in census records. He died bet 1820 and 1830 in Rockcastle County, Ky.
If the Antonius Coble died before 1793 there are land records in Orange County, NC. For Anthony Coble 1797, 1798 witness to a land sale, 1802.
1802 Orange County deed book ten P. 104 Benjamin Sheramn of Orange to Anthony Coble and Peter Summers of Guilford 1 Sep 1801
1802 P. 105 Anthony Cable (in dutch) witness to a land sale proved May Term 1802 by Anthony Cable, delvd to Geo. Strader
29 June 1811, Irrael Holt and Barbara Coble Administrators of Anthony Coble Junioe deceased of Orang to Peter Waggoner of Guilford, one thousand dollars paid to Anthony Coble deceased
1801 in March Orange County, Anthony Coble witnessed land sale and was proved in May Term 1813 by Anthony Coble

Peter Summers will wrote this:
6th - As to my daughter Barbary, I have advanced her in life with
twelve hundred & fifty dollars in money & also in stock &
other things necessary for keeping house & likewise two Negroes,
amounting in all to twenty two hundred & fifty dollars, making
her equal to the rest of my other children. I now give her, in
addition ... all the money or legace given to me my [sic] Anthony
COBLE of Rock-castle county Kentucky, in his last will,
and I do hereby authorize and empower my said daughter Barbary
to recover the said money or legacy from the Executors of Mr.
COBLE, to give receipts for and hold the same to her own
use. I give my daughter Barbary one thousand dollars to be paid
to her in such sums as my Executors may think her necessities
shall require.
Does anyone have this will in Rockcastle County, Ky?
