Hello,
My gg grandmother was Eliza COBHAM. Or CUBBAM. Or any of a few spellings.
Would love to hear from the experts about their experiences sorting through
this!
Thanks and regards,

Sorry Shirley the only details I have is to trace my great grand father from London to NZ in about 1958.
Anything before this is unkown to me at this time.
A project for when I retire.

Peter, where do your Cobham's originate from in England? Do you know of any who lived in Ireland. My ancestor, James Cobham, was b. in Ireland abt 1809. James joined the Coast Guard in 1831 and signed on in Sligo, Ireland. He had various postings in England - Devon Co. & Kent Co. - and many throughout Ireland & N. Ireland during the 1850s & 60s. He died in 1877 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. James married a lady named Lura Smith. James's parents are unknown.
Does anything look remotely connected??

Looking for a connection to the surname Soundy possibly originating from the East End and Slough area
Link so far:
Arthur & Elizabeth Soundy had a son Henry Leslie Soundy
Henry had siblings :
Ernest (Nibbo) who I've heard played cricket in New Zealand when he moved there, Arthur, David, Lionel (Jack), Eva, Lillian, Winne
Henry Leslie Soundy married Minnie Edith Smith and had daughter Valerie Ann Theresa Soundy
Minnie Soundy (Smith) had siblings:
Fred - had a son David
Frank
Robert
Valerie had cousins: Sheila, Carol, Kenneth, Elizabeth, Keith, Angela
I don't know if there are any connections here, Valerie is my mum.
