Again, time brings changes. My computer was hacked in 2011 and my email address was changed to twigsnbranches(a)earthlink.net . Sorry if someone tried to contact me and my mail bounced.
I continue to search for ancestors of William and Thomas Cobb/Cobbs who were 'from' Virginia, born late 1700s and all Cobb/Cobbs following this migration trail who I contact do not seem to recognize the two Cobb/Cobbs men - William and Thomas, who sailed down the Ohio River from Virginia about 1812-13, probably worked for awhile on the farm (Kinder and Bear families) in Henry/Shelby County, Kentucky, moved with the Bear (Barr) family to their farm across the Ohio River in Milton, Indiana where they are shown in the 1820 census.
August 7, 1820 was Federal Census Day - IND Jefferson Co. (enumeration date)

About 1820-22 these two men left Ind for Arkansas where William died leaving behind in IND his wife, Hester (Bear) with 5 children; John (1814-KY), Mary (1815-6-IND), Hester (1818-IND) an unnamed sister (1819-20 IND, and a brother, George (born 1820-21 IND).
Thomas Cobb/Cobbs is not found in the 1830 census but he returned to IND where he is at the Bear farm in IND in 1840 -

After this census this family disappears.
The family of William Cobb, now presumed dead, his widow, Hester, with her children, John, Mary Lathrop and her husband Isaac (Jr.), Hester, their unknown sister and brother, George, move to Muscatine County, Iowa.
John Cobb farms and works keelboats along the rivers - then moves to Quincy, Illinois where he farms until 1850.
Mary and Isaac Lathrop move from Milton IND to Tippecanoe IND to Muscatine County, IA. They have a daughter, Hester Lathrop who survives both of their deaths in 1840.
There is an unnamed Cobb sister who still remains a mystery.
Hester Cobb marries John Marble in 1842 and they move to Oregon in 1845.
George Cobb is found in Muscatine County, IA records and then disappears.
Does anyone recognize these names? I would appreciate hearing from you.
