Lowman, N.Y. - Betty J. Cobb, age 84, of Lowman, formerly of Lindley, NY, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 21, 2011.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Lloyd Cobb, in 2009.
She was born in Chinchilla, PA, to Duane and Rhoda (Sturdervant) Bryant.
She spent her childhood in Endwell, NY, and went to Endwell High School. After graduating she went immediately into IBM where she worked on projects for World War II.
Betty had become a Christian in her teens, so after the War ended then went on to Practical Bible Training School (now Davis College) in Johnson City, NY. This is where she met her husband. They were married 61 years; 50 of those years Pastor and Betty lovingly served their Lord in Baptist Churches in New York, Maine, and Pennsylvania.
Betty trained as a floral designer while in Medina, NY, and after moving to Lindley, worked for Cortrights Floral Shop. She loved gardening, ceramics, oil painting, and her many flower beds.
After retirement she and her husband joined the Christian Life Baptist Church in Corning.
She is survived by her daughters: Janet Cobb of Ann Arbor, MI, and Kimberly (Cyndi Wilkins) Cobb of Lowman, NY; sons: Charles (Margie) Cobb of Pekin, IL, and Bryan (Susan Carpenter) Cobb of Grass Lake, MI; brother, Aramis Duane Bryant of Oak Harbor, OH; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
