I've "rescued" an old photograph of Dell WILSON which was taken at the Hope
& Bros. Studio in Shawneetown, MO. The photograph appears to have been taken
in the 1880's or 1890's with Dell likely in her teens or 20's at the time it
was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following
information regarding Dell and her family:
Flora Delle WILSON was b. 31 Jul 1870 in Oak Ridge or Cape Girardeau, MO to
parents Charles C. WILSON (1830-1886) and Adaline or Adeline BEAL
(1833-1904). Dell was one of 9 children born to this couple including,
Narcena Caroline; Giles A.; John S.; William Green; Sarah Jane WILSON COBB
(1861-1946); Mary Elizabeth "Molly" WILSON DRUM (1865-1925); Alexander
"Alex"; Flora Delle; and Thomas "Tom" WILSON (1872-1944). Dell married
Andrew "Andy" Hines CLIPPARD (1868-1940) on 17 Feb 1890 and together they
had 7 children including, Bert; Louisianna "Lucie" or "Lucy" Mae Lee; Carlyn
or Carlen; Myron or Marion or Mayron Hines; Hazell Delle; Jane; and Glen
CLIPPARD, all born between 1890 and 1912.
Dell died 26 Apr 1935 in Cape Girardeau, MO and is buried in the Oak Ridge
Cemetery in Oak Ridge.

I'm hoping to locate someone from the family so that the photograph can be
returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you
know someone who might be, please contact me.

Hello fellow cousins. We knew before taking the DNA test that we connected
our Cobbs/Cobb back to Williamsburg VA through my dad... Floyd James Cobb.
The test confirmed it.
Welcome to the family.

My DNA matches 100% the DNA of a known descendant of Howell Cobb, who was
in Grainger County, TN, in 1810, married Leah Williams in 1811 and settled
in Vanderburgh, Hopkins County, KY. Howell was born in 1793. Howell cobb
of Georgia was born in 1815. According to the internet, my ancestor,
Howell, told his grandson that Howell Cobb of Georgia was his cousin. The
website, Cobb and Cobbs, shows a connection back to Ambrose for the Georgia
Cobbs. We, apparently, have a DNA connection back to Ambrose. Don Cobb

Subject: [COBB] descendants of Ambrose Cobb, the emigrant
I am directly descended from the emigrant Ambrose Cobb/s and his wife Ann
White. My ancestors were in VA and later in TN. I have not found a
connection to those Cobbs who went to GA. However, my line and the GA line
share given names and I have always wondered if the two are actually both
from Ambrose. Perhaps a split in where they went from VA to either TN or
GA.I am interested in 4 men who descend from Ambrose, all of whom were
named Thomas -- the Thomas who married Mary Shields, the Thomas who married
(unknown) , the Thomas who married Susannah Moon?, and Thomas who married
Nancy (unknown). According to records I have found all four of these men
were born in VA. These 4 men lived/died between abt. 1689 and 1816.Can
anyone shed light on any of these men? Thanks.Virginia
