I am hoping to locate someone from their family so that these wonderful
treasures can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of
this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
I don't know the immigrant ancestor. My farthest back Cobb is Edward (middle name might be Thomas) Cobb -- ca 1787-after 1850. Can't get a real handle on him. According to his son's death certificate, Edward was born in NC; so was his wife, Mary Van Dora Cole. Both died in Richland County, SC. The census I am most certain he is in is 1850.
Children:
Sarah (m. Wlm. Miles)
Eliz. (m. Wlm. Martin)
Thomas Archibald Cobb Sr. (m. Anne Leminda Fetner)
Jesse DeBruhl Cobb (m. Rebecca Fetner).

What about the male line? Do you know who your immigrant ancestor was?

How far back is your Cobb connection? I understand that atDNA is good
through the fifth generation...
Thanks and regards,
Stephanie
Stephanie, I have had my DNA done through Ancestry.

I am interested in more concrete information on Edward Cobb and his wife
Mary. Who is his father? Is it Hartwell E. H. Cobb? The line might be out
of Pitt County, NC.
I'm searching for the present-day descendants of William Sharp Cobb, born in
Montrose, Angus, Scotland in 1837, and died in Tacoma, WA in 1907. He was a
deep water master mariner, and lived in Edinburgh for many years.
I'm hoping to find pictures of him or his family.
