Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
COBB James Glenn Cobb, Jr, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama,
passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 27, 2010. The
eldest son of James Glenn Cobb and Maysie Blacksher, he was preceded
in death by his parents and sister, Maysie Cobb Atkinson. He is
survived by his daughter, Liza Cobb Snyder (Jeremy) of Birmingham; two
grandchildren, Maysie Tucker Snyder and William Cobb Snyder; a
brother, Jeptha Blacksher Cobb of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; and
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Cobb graduated from
University Military School in Mobile and attended Emory University
where he joined the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He received his
undergraduate degree and his law degree from the University of
Alabama. He practiced law in Mobile for many years. Mr. Cobb was a
member of several mystic societies. An avid outdoorsman all of his
life, he particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Some of his great
joys include being in the woods at his camp in Monroe County and
spending summers in Point Clear. A graveside service at Magnolia
Cemetery will take place Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at 10:30 am.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Mobile
Waterfront Rescue Mission. Condolences may be offered at
