Yes, there are many, but I am looking for a phone number for Christopher
Lee Cobb, age 61, who lives in Cave Creek, AZ. There is only one of him, I
hope! I might have to break down and write him a letter, because I do have
his address.

Hi all,
Can anyone help me find Asenath Cobb? She married Reuben Hussey and lived in Maine. I don't know who her parents are. She and Reuben had, at least, one child, Osgood Hussey. I don't have any dates for her either. It is a long shot, huh? Thanks anyway.

Byron,
Per record of Andrew Henshaw Ward, "A Genealogical History of The Rice
Family: Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice, ..." (Boston: C. Benjamin
Richardson, 1858), John Cobb was a son of Elisha Cobb & Submit Higgins (her
second marriage)[Elisha Cobb not connected to a Barnstable, Boston or
Taunton line yet (unlinked status)].
John Cobb was born 11 Jul 1780 (place not given) and married Betsey Legate
in 1803 in Charlemont, Franklin Co., MA. Six children born in Charlemont,
MA: William, 1804; Thankful, 1806; Eliza, 1809; Saphrona, 1812; Alexis,
1816; Ruel, 1819; three found married. One of their children, Ruel Cobb,
married a Sarah C. Stetson ("Stetson Genealogy Fifth Through Seventh
Generations" with VR of Colrain, Franklin Co., MA also providing records)
and at least four children known. Ruel Cobb as a name also occurs in the
Taunton line in the Mansfield, MA area as well in the Barnstable line in
Maine.
Benjamin Franklin Legate, son of Thomas Legate [Thomas being about 1 - 2
generations removed from Betsey Legate] married another Stetson in Colrain
and resided in Charlemont.
This John Cobb had two children who married and lived in Charlemont, MA area
but the others might have moved to Illinois as no further record found of
the family but for one of the sons (Ruel Cobb above) who married and had
descendents in that Charlemont and Colrain area.
No match in this database for a Celinda Cobb. It is possible a Celinda Cobb,
b. 1814, would fit in the above family. Are any of the other children
(above) of John Cobb found in the same Illinois area? Please provide how you
had arrived at a John Cobb & Nancy Leggate (Nancy Briggs?) marriage (book,
Internet?)
Thanks,
Paul Cobb
File Manager, Barnstable and Boston lines

It might be of interest that John Cobb's first cousin Jonathan Cobb also
immigrated to Illinois in about the same time frame. Jonathan also spent

David again. Jonathan was the son of David Cobb, 1742-1792, John was the son
of Josiah Cobb, 1750-1832. David and Josiah were great grandsons of
Augustine Cobb. Jonathan was born Feb.15,1776, Warwick, (Hampshire, later
