I am sorry, but I think that this COBB family was probably another side of
MY COBB Family. I have no info on any Cobbs in South Africa. BUT......if I ever
run across any that would seem to fit....I will forward the info ,OK ?

Hi,
I'm searching for information on some relatives of mine who emigrated to
South Africa from Scotland sometime after 1901.
Andrew Soutar COBB, born Coupar Angus, Perthshire 28 Feb 1880 is on the
1901 census for Perthshire. In 1959 my great grandmother (his
sister-in-law) received a letter from his son Jack COBB, living in Cape
Town informing her of his father's death on 14 Mar 1959. According to
Jack's letter, there were seven siblings - their names were BRIDGET,
DORIS, IRIS, MARGARET, STELLA, WINIFRED and ALBERT. All were living in
Cape Town, and several of the girls were married with children. Jack was
born in 1909 and Albert in 1915, but no birth dates are given for the
girls.
Any information about this family would be gratefully received.
Thanks
Kathy Toms

There's old messages for
"Robert Howard (Bob) Cobb.
born 2/8/1898 Missouri, died 3/21/1970 Los Angles, CA. He owned the Brown Derby Restaurant in Hollywood,CA and originated the cobb salad. Started up the Billings Mustangs baseball team, the field is named after him. He grew up Billings and moved to Calif probably in the early 1920's. May have married in Montana. His cousin Jame Lucian Davis was an attorney for Yellowstone County from 1918-1922."
Has anyone traced his family tree?
