I checked, Mildred, but found no John G.D.. There were several Johns, but
the nearest one was born in 1857 . I also checked Mary Cobb, but none matched
yours. Have you checked the LDS website?

Hi, Davine.
Mary Susan Bridges was the daughter of Mary Cival Henagan and Benjamin
Bridges of South Carolina. She was born enroute to AR from GA, in
Tallapoosa, AL, in 1842. They were originally from around Bennettsville,
and the Pee Dee River area. Benjamin's parents were Benjamin F. Bridges,
Sr., and Rebecca Stubbs.
We are not sure as to Ben Sr's birthplace. Could have been Talbot,
Maryland.
Mary Susan was in the 1850 and 60 census reports from Pulaski Co., AR, but
not 1870. Someone researched her mother's probate record, and found her
name listed as an heir, Mary Susan Cobb. I have no further record of her,
although I have tracked all the other children successfully. Mary Susan's
brother, John Wesley Bridges, was my great grandfather.

I am interested in Mary Susan Bridges. Who was her father? Could her
father have been Daniel Bridges, born abt 1795 in SC?

Stephanie,
This is absolutely all I know about my g.grandfather's sister after she
married. She was born in AL, enroute with the family from GA to AR, and was
in the 1850 census. She was named in the mother's estate papers. I am not
sure they died in Arkansas. Could you check for me? Mildred

I do have a copy, and it includes all of the Cobbs in Arkansas, including my
Grandmother and her family. There are errors in the book, but it is still a
wonderful thing to have.

Double Wow!! My mother, Lee Leavens Cobb, recently sold her home in Rushford (directly across from the school) and has moved to Delevan. My grandfather's family has been in Rushford since the mid-1800's (that would be the Leavens side). My father's family is very much connected to the Rochester and Finger Lakes area. They owned the Cobb Canning Company which eventually became American Can Company. As mentioned, my dad has done considerable research on our family tree so I will try and get him involved with this site. Thanks for the response.

No one in the family knows his parents names, but that his father was a doctor. they lived in the wyoming, Catt. and Allegeny county area. We believe he lived in the Pike, ny area, but moved with is parents at a young age, around 16 yrs old. thats about all the info i have. thank you very much

My Cobb family also came from Western NY. I was born and raised in Rochester

within the family. My regular e-mail is _tiglvr4(a)aol.com_
(mailto:tiglvr4@aol.com) drop me a line and lets see if there is a connection. I have a lot on
