Dear Fellow Taunton Cobb Researchers, I started a project on the out of Massachusetts migration of the "Taunton Cobbs". Hear is the first installment of some of my findings. Augustine 1, Morgan 2, William 3, Josiah 4, b.Dec. 25,1750, Norton, Bristol, Ma., d.Jan.24,1832, Orange, Franklin, Ma., m.Mehetable Hodges on April 19, 1774. They had at least two daughters, Mehitable b. abt 1790, Selah,1794, they may have had as many as 8 sons (extrapolation of 1790-1820 Census') of which I can only account for 3. Amasa b.abt 1776, John b.July11,1780, and Thomas b.Dec. 25, 1781. For now we can ignore Thomas as he stayed in Ma. Amasa was the leader of the out migration. There is a historical monument erected in the village of McLean, Town of Groton, Tomkins Co.,NY comemorating the site of the Elm Tree Inn, the first log tavern in Mclean built by Amasa Cobb. The 1820 Census shows Amasa living in the Town of Groton, NY with a wife (Eunice), two males b.1775-1794, 2 females b. 1775-1794, one male b.1795-1804, one female b.1810-1820. I would assume one of the males and females 1775-1794 would be Amasa and Eunice Respectively. The others? a Brother and Wife? In unrelated discussions with a Historian for Tompkins County NY who was looking to find out what happened to Amasa because of the Historical Significance of the Elm Tree Inn. We found him migrating again to Mentor Geuga, Ohio by the 1930 Census, living there with Eunice and 2 males b.1800-1810. The 1840 Census still finds him in Mentor (now Lake Co.) Ohio, with Eunice and 1 male b.1800-1810, 2males b.1810-1820, 1female b. 1810-1820, 1 male b.1820-1825, 1male b.1825-30. the 1850 Census for Mentor, shows Amasa, 73yrs. b. Ma. and Eunice 69 yrs. b.Ma.. May 16, 1855, Amasa died at Mentor, Lake, Ohio. The 1860 Census finds Eunice back Tompkins Co. NY Twn of Dryden, now 78 yrs old living with a William(age43) and Althea C.(age38) Hanford, both born in NY. Hunch, Althea C. is her daughter. At present this is all I have on Amasa, possibly he has descendants in NY and Oh. May be this will bring them out. Next up John Cobb b.July 11, 1780. d.between 1836-1840, Crawford Co. Illinois, m. There has been much discussion on Richard Taylor and which one he was. Do you know of any copy of a real document which would prove Richard Taylor married to Ruth Whelden as our line?
Also do you know any information on Jemima Morse? I have her birth and marriage but not her death date. I am guessing Jemima died in SC.
I know Henry C and Sarah Hinckley and Richard Taylor and Ruth Whelden were married within two years of each other in Barnstable.

Hi--
I'm looking for photos of Edwin R. Cobb (1858-1932) and family, who lived in the house I currently own in Colrain, MA. In his time, our land was known as the Edwin Cobb Farm. He was married to Margaret "Carrie" Davenport (1869-1907) and then to Susie Easton. I would very much like to find some family photos, especially photos with the house and farm visible. If anyone has any such photos to share, please let me know.
Many thanks,
Rachel
