No connection to family or bible, just thought someone might be interested.
Bible: John COBB, Massachusetts
19th Century family bible belonging to the John Kempton Cobb family.
The bible itself is King James version, published in 1845 by Luther Roby of Concord, NH. Contains both Old and New Testaments, plus Apocrypha, illustrated with several detailed etchings.
Of interest to the COBB family is the Family Record section between the two testaments.
Births:
Harriet H. Cobb (b. 1842)
Alice E. Cobb (b. 1844)
Laura Cobb (b. 1845)
Lemuel Cobb (b. 1847)

Sarah F. Cobb (b. 1851)

Deaths:
John H. Cobb (d. 1858)

Hi Donald,
William Riley & Lucinda Wilcox are my gggreatgrandparents. That information is correct. Their son George, daughter Georgia, Son Virgil, daughter Patricia to Me!
I think I met you last fall in Greenville/Central City, KY at the Cobb family reunion. I'm from Michigan as is our cousin Sandy Westgate. I believe that you correspond with her.
Our Cousin Robert T. is in the DNA Project.
We are still working on this. Sandy and I have come to the conclussion that William Riley's father is the Brother to Jesse Cobb married to Nancy(Reese)that Virginia Greene is working on. Virginia's Uncle David Wayne Cobb is an Exact match with Robert T. So now we need to find out who Jesse's siblings are.
We plan on going to Kentucky this fall again for another Family reunion. Robert T. is coming to Michigan when the weather is warmer.

Gail,
I've now got time to run through your e-mails from this last week. Ref
the article above, do you have a copy of that you could send me?
As for Betty Suttles Vinson, I'd tried to e-mail her two years ago in
February and found out from her daughter that Betty had died. In my e-mails back to
her daughter, I suggested that they may want to find some library or
university to pass on Betty's research. I was only thinking that if there might not
be someone else in the family who was doing the Cobb research it would be a
shame to have Betty's info be deposited in a trunk somewhere.
Betty sent me a copy of her updated research listing some years before she
died. At one time she was talking about writing a book. In these last couple
of years, I've wondered what her updated research showed.
BTW, did you receive the Confederate Veteran Magazine article I sent?
