Did the father of these Cobbs come from NC?
Davine
My ggrandmother, Julia Ann Cobb, b. 1855, was from Decatur County,
Georgia. She married William Brown Roberts and moved to Manatee
County, Florida around 1881. Her father was Josiah Cobb. Any
connection with the Wikes County Cobbs?

And for those of you freaking out over my post - sorry, didn't mean to say Joseph and Rachel migrated to Louisiana, I meant some of their children migrated to East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana - for which I have documentation from the Clerk of Court Office in Clinton, East Feliciana Parish, along with a Land Plot Map and several Census Reports regarding : Nathaniel Cobb, Joseph Cobb, Mary Cobb, Daniel Cobb, Ezekiel Cobb (to name a few) and also an insert from a book of settlers in East Feliciana Parish listing their names, amongst several other official documents.

Wish I could help, but I didn't find anything. Looks like a brick wall to me.
One idea...try checking a current phone directory for any Dannenbergs living in the areas where Edna had been. Either call or write these people because they could be related and know something about Edna.

Thank you for you reply William. We are seeking any information on Edna Cobb Clark Dannenberg.
I am Cindy Cobb Smiley, cousin of Julie, who posted the first message a couple months ago. We have been working on this family tree constantly for the past 2 months and have it pretty mapped out now. We are still searching for Edna Cobb Clark Dannenberg and not having much luck. She was born around 1915 - 1917. We found her marriage certificate in Marksville, LA. She married Calvis Voille Clark around 1933. But that is all we can find on her. She is listed on an obituary of her father's (Ellis James Cobb) as being Edna Dannenberg but have yet to figure out who this Dannenberg is she married. My father told me she was killed after Hurricane Audrey (1957) on the road from Holley Beach, LA. Yet we can't find anything else about her. Would appreciate anything you might have or can find on her. By the way, we located Ellis James Cobb, his wife Willie Dee Self and visited their gravesite in Oakdale, LA.

I am a descendent of Nathaniel Cobb of GA, later East Feliciana Parish, LA and looking for additional documentation regarding his family. I descend from Joseph Cobb, III > Nathaniel Cobb > Augustus G Cobb > Nathaniel B Cobb > Ellis James Cobb > Tyrus Ellis Cobb (who was my grandfather). I have our family tree pretty mapped out but am looking for any additional information I can find before I publish our Family Tree Book. Anyone having any information of any of these lines - I would appreciate you sharing. I would be happy to share anything I have. I have a database of over 650 individuals with 126 different surnames. I am looking for anyone having any pictures or documents of our family.
Thanks,

According to my information, Caleb, b. c.1797, was the eldest son, and the only one born in VT. The family moved to Eddyville, KY in 1801, and the others were born there.
Robert Livingston, b. c. 1804, was the father of Robert Cobb for whom Cobb's Battery was named. Joshua, b. 1809, is of particular interest to us because he was my wife's ancestor. If anyone has sound evidence proving he was in fact the son of Gideon Dyer Cobb and Modena Clark, I'd appreciate very much hearing about it!
Mary Willard b. c. 1810, Hannah Chittenden b. 1811, Persis b. c. 1813, Gideon Dyer b. 1818, Aurelia Skinner b. 1819, and Giles L. b. 1823 are the others I have.
In addition to Gideon Dyer, Joshua, and John also moved to Eddyville.
I'd love to correspond with anyone following this family.

UPDATE:
It appears that John L. Cobbs, possible son of Thomas and Nancy (Watson) Cobbs of Buckingham Co., VA, married Nancy F. Toney (and there was a later "Bolling connection" to this line). In addition, a Doctor John Cobbs of Lynchburg, VA married Mary Bolling. It appears that the Doctor was a son of John L. Cobbs and Susannah Hamner of Bedford Co., VA. I don't know for sure if the Doctor also had a middle initial of "L," but that would not surprise me.
Hi,
I was reading your email regarding Ty Cobb and wonder if he is of the Joseph Cobb line of Isle of Wight. I have only done my direct lineage. My great grandfather was Philemon and his father was Peter.
Thanks for any information on Ty Cobb.

Hi Carol,
This is so wild! We are related! No, I haven't gone to the reunion since I
was a little girl, but am now wanting to go. I've e-mailed Jane at the Union
County Historical Society and she's gonna find out when it is and let me know.
My mother always went. We lost her last year, and following her wishes, buried
some of her ashes up there, both at Ivy Log and at New Hope Cemetary. She was
raised in Waycross, but spent her summers with her grandmother, Mamie Teague
Cobb (Sid's wife) who she was very close to.
My sister and I visited the Ty Cobb Museum this past June and the woman
working there found out we were kin and we started talking. She put us on their
mailing list. On Saturday, August 27th, the town of Royston is having a
commemorative vintage baseball game, honoring the 100th anniversary of Ty
starting in the major leages. It's from 10-2, with entertainment between
innings. You park at the Museum (just get to Royston and the signs will point
the way) and transportation by horse and wagon will be provided to Cobb Field,
which is a sandlot. Doesn't that sound like a blast? We're gonna go. You should,
too.
Here's a good website I found while playing around on the computer. I went
under google and put in Harrison Taylor Cobb, and found this:
www.leavesfromourtree.com/mcalister.html. Check it out.
Well, keep in touch, and maybe we'll get to meet at the reunion or the
baseball game.
Great talking to you,
Ginger

Margaret, do you happen to have a Charles Edward Cobb in your line. He was born Sept 21, (the year in question - either 1865 or 1872) born in Georgia (county we are not sure), moved to Alabama to the Cleburne Co., Talladega Co., area married had 4 children, left this family between 1900 & 1910. Charles then moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma married and had two other children. He is said to have died in 1953. His first set of children were James Alexander, Francis Naomi, Charles Walker, & Amy (who died when she was about 10. I know it is a long shot. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone know if the John L. I have seen it shown both ways. A daughter of John Lewis Cobbs and Susannah Hamner named Ann(e) Hamner Cobbs moved to Buckingham with her husband, Baker W. Davidson, and with her half-sister (apparently), Amanda Cobbs. Maybe her brother, John Lewis Cobbs, Junior, also moved there. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
