I'm in possession of an autographed photo of Jim S. Cobb to my grandfather. It was dated May 20, 1933. He has dark (brown or black) hair and is smoking a cigar. He appears to have dark eyes and heavy bushy eyebrows. My grandfather lived, at this time, in Vienna, WV. I don't know how my grandfather was associated with Mr. Cobb. Grandpa worked for the FBI in 1928 and 1929, so I don't know if it could have been that way. He also did other things. If this sounds like your relative, I would be interested in hearing from you. Would be glad to share this photo. I'm trying to find out how they were associated. My grandfather was C E Douglas.
Hiya, everyone!
Looks as if we are all having problems Thanks for telling me...
This is the link to my page...

If that doesn't work, please try

And if that doesn't work, please go to Google and type in
The Summer of Our Rebellion and or my name, Elizabeth Ashley Ruffin.
Something should work!
The Summer of Our Rebellion is a historical romance. The setting is Virginia
in 1676 based around Bacon's Rebellion. So few things have been written on
that period and it called for a great deal of research both in Virginia and
in England. I feel it is one of the most important times in American
history... It is the birth of our nation...where America started ... the foundation of
our country! There are many early families mentioned who's decedent's fought
against the British exactly one hundred years later in 1776. For those of
use who like early maps, we also included early Virginia maps that had not
been published in 150 years.
I hope you can view the web page as there are also a number of English
pictures for you all to view...and enjoy!
All the best!
Elizabeth Ashely Ruffin

Won't work! It gets me to the site and to the form. I complete the form and try to submit it, and it will not work at this point. The problem is not getting to the site. The problem is with the processing of the form.

Try going to the link for the cobb press and see if they have changed it
there. Maybe it will work that way.

It doesn't work for me, and I just tried it again. After I entered my
information, I clicked on submit, and all I got was a "cannot find page" again.
Sorry, I have tried 6 times, and I do not know what the problem is.

Hello all,
The "funny address" post was the down side of keeping the gateway open
between the COBB message board and our COBB mailing list, as anyone can access the
board and post their message...be it genealogy or spam. I could 'close' that
gateway, but we would loose so much by not having all the COBB message board
posts forwarded on to our list. I would, however, require another addy be used
if this person ever tried to join our list. No virus possible from board to
list...just a random board post by someone with a poor sense of humor or taste.

Eireann, COBB & COBBS listmgr.
Hello,
If you type in on:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cobb
you will be amazed at the information on the COBB Family found there.
I also descend from this same EDWARD COBB's side of the COBB Family, if
you might like to e-mail me if you do not find what you want on the 'freepages'
site.

Is there a virus on this list?
My mail has been misbehaving ever since I mistakenly open one of
yesterday's messages with a funny email address.
Do we not have some sort of virus protection here?
Just worrying.

Hi,
I'm looking for a Edward Cobb who m. Elizabeth Bowers. Edward was b. Jul 1731 Taunton, MA and d. 1813 in Morris Co, NJ (or so I'm told). Edward was the son of Ebenezer and Mehetble.
I need proof of their children...especially a son named Lemuel Bowers Cobb. And proof of Elizabeth's parents, supposedly Lemuel Bowers and Elizabeth Whitmore. Lemuel is supposed to be the son of Nathaniel Bowers and Hannah Smith who m. 1703 Stamford, Fairfield Co, CT, but this is a weak link.
Does anyone have this source? Could I get a copy of the sited page? THANKS!
_History of Elizabeth New Jersey - Including the Early History of Union Co_ by Rev. Edwin F. Hatfield DD, Carlton & Lanahan, 200 Julberry St, NY, 1868, Chpt XV, p. 328.
The link between my Bowers line and the Cobbs is weaker than I like, so to be certain I'm not heading in the wrong direction, I'd appreciate any possible assistance on this.
Help! <VBG>
Thanks so much
Emily
