Sorry, that should be CHILDREN, not child, and it was the southWEST corner of Missouri. It's probably not a good idea to post messages at this time of night, and people who don't know if they're lefthanded or righthanded probably shouldn't give directions at any time. ::sigh::

Reuben and Almira Cobb did have a daughter named Cerilda - sometimes. This family not only moved a lot, they also seem to have had several names for their younger child, according to census records. What part of Missouri have you found your Cerilda's family in? Reuben died and was buried in 1879 in Shell Knob, in the southeast corner of Missouri. My sister and I tried to find the cemetery several years ago, when we were vacationing in that area, and discovered that it is at the bottom of Table Rock Lake. The town was moved up the hill when the dam was built, but not the cemetery.
If your Cerilda was in that part of Missouri at about that time, it probably is Reuben's daughter, and we have lots of information on his family. Let me know.

I am looking for information on my ggggrandmother---Cerilda Bland. I'm trying to find out if she was the daughter of Almira and Rueben Cobb. They had a daughter listed as "Cerilda" in the 1850 census: Indiana, Howard, Taylor. I have seen her name spelled many ways; Serelda, Cerilda, even Surelin. She married a John Arthur Bland. She was the mother Elizabeth, Mary, Nellie, and Henry. They traveled a lot: I have found them in Missouri, Kansas and Minnesota. Place of death I believe is Kasota, (LeSueur County) Minnesota: Can you confirm if she was part of this family or not?

Some of this Daniel's family ended up in Santa Rosa County, FL. Daniel was
actually here in 1885. This is where I found Daniel on the census records,
1830 in Talbot Co., GA, 1840 in Muscogee Co., GA, 1850 in Muscogee Co., Ga,
1860 in Monroe (Burnt Corn), AL. 1870 not located, 1880 in Coffee Co., Al
and in 1885 in Santa Rosa County Al, Florida State Census. I show his
daughter Frances L. Cobb married to James Bryant with one child a daughter, Georgia
E. Bryant who married Samuel Ingram. I show this Daniel Cobb b about 1798
as the son of James Cobb and Susannah May. James was the son of Joseph and
Rachel Cobb and was in Santa Rosa County in 1850. More of Daniel's children
ended up in Santa Rosa County and finally Escambia County. This is not my
family but I will share the information I have with anyone researching this
family. Voncille

Aquilla Cobb and Sarah Bagley.

This is to anyone researching the Hinton/cobb/selby connection.
I am descended from Michael Hinton born in S.C. abt 1794 and died in Wayne county Tennessee.
I believe that my Michael Hinton is the same as the Michael Hinton is the Hinton/cobb/selby family research.
I would like to compare notes and get a fresh opinion on what I have found.
Thank you in advance

Don't forget ...
<< John Cobbs of Kent is the earliest documented progenitor of our Cobb
family, meaning that he was the first to be recorded in the College of
Heralds. He was the son of one Henry Cobbe, who in 1258 acquired land in
the parish of Hope St. Mary, New Romney, Kent. It is not known exactly when
John was born, but by 1324, he had acquired possession of the manor of one
Richard de Organer. The place had been built by Organer in 1254, on land
granted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. This manor became known as Cobbs
Court and remained in the family for many-many years. John was still
living there in the 17th year of the reign of King Edward II. It is
believed he died there about 1325. During his life he was awarded the title
of Esquire, for having performed some unidentified service to the Crown.
This title continued to be born by several generations of his direct male
descendants. >>
