I have a copy of a letter written by John Cobb, February 13, 1860, from Reidsville, Georgia. He wrote the governor that a volunteer company had been formed. He is not "my John Cobb". If he is your ancestor, send me a message, dwarlick3(a)comcast.net, and I'll mail a copy to you.

I have a marriage bond from Jessamine Co. KY for Joel Brumfield and Susannah Cobb, dated 6 Aug 1834. I believe this was a second marriage for Susannah. I have seen on World Connect that Susannah was previously married to Washington Cobb (I haven't documented this). The marriage bond between Joel and Susannah was signed by Joel Brumfield and William Wade, leading me to believe that William Wade might possibly be Susannah's father or brother.
Anyone have anything that might help me on proving Susannah's maiden name or prove that she was married to Washington Cobb?

I am in need of information on the family history of John Cobb who was born in Indianna in 1880. His parents were Brad Cobb and "Sis" Brown. I don't have any further information on his parents. I do know that he ran away from home and went to live with his grandmother in Pennislyvania. He later moved to Wofford, Kentucky and married Catherine McKinney and had John Rainey jr, Giles Rainey, Ike Rainey, Drothea Rainey, Pearl Rainey, Elzie Rainey, Lajoyla Rainey, Thelma Rainey and a couple more children. Lajoyla was still born and is burried in the Wofford Cemetery along with John, Catherine and her parents and uncles and most of their children and grandchildren. I'm stuck with John to whom I can find no more information or family members other than immediate family and such. I can use all the help I can get. Any information no matter how small would be of great use. Thank You Donna Reid....
I just re-read your note saying Samuel Cobb was born in Pomfret Windham,
CT. Can you tell me how to get more information about this line? He was
the father of my great grand father John cobb from what your note
suggested. I aprreciate any help you can give me. Thank you. Ezma cobb

The only William I know anything about is William Rufus Cobb, b. 1840 in

Ellen lived at that time with her son Robert Cobb. And, another time she lived with her daughter and son in law, Martha and
Wesley Moore.
We believe that Eleanor "Ellen" PHILLIPS' parents were Arthur Phillips and Marcie 'Mary' Weir/Ware.
We also believe that Eleanor "Ellen" (PHILLIPS) COBB was almost a full-blooded Catawba woman. Generally, the children belong to the mother's tribe... so that means that Ellen's mother was at least Catawba.

It is $100 for the 12 marker test. It is $169 to do the 25 marker test and I just paid $59 to update my husband's and brothers each to the 37 marker but I know that it is cheaper to have the 25 marker done than to do the 12 marker and then upgrade to the 25 marker. It is $30 more to do the upgrade. The 12 marker test is not accurate enough. My husband matched 5 people on the 12 marker test all with different last names and matched one on the 25 marker test. My husband turned out to be a Rader but his family uses Reeder.

While it is an important project to some, it hold no interest for others.
In deference to those who cannot or wish not to participate,
I would like to ask that it now be continued offlist.
