Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Not sure if a match, but I am looking for my biological father from Ohio. He also died in 1984. His SS# was issued in Ohio and I have a W. C. Cobb from Dayton who is the brother to my father Coleman C. Cobb. He was a consulate in the US Army stationed in Germany during the end of WWII and possibley after. Can anyone tell me who the parents of Mahala Jane Cobb(1815) were? She was the 2nd wife of Daniel Cottingim(1797). They married Dec 3, 1844. It is my bellief that she is the daughter of Thomas Cobb and Hannah Hager. Any help appreciated.

Abt the Missouri census I sent after I said I could not find a Lenard Cobb
that age. I finally put the age 9 yrs in, and the index spit it out, because it
had that 9 mos in there! How do you like that? Never trust indexes. I have
seen the letter L mistaken for S many times.
I just ran into a census taker, beautiful writing, and fairly simple, not all
the fancy stuff, and when he wrote Indiana, his I looped below the line and
looked exactly like a J. One of the other letters in the Indiana did the same
and I can't remember if it was that D or an A!

unfortunately this Thomas Cobb you reffer to is much older than my Great Grand Father is believed. My Grand Father Lenard Thomas Cobb was born in 1913 and his father is Thomas Cobb so wer figure he was born around the end of the 19th century1890's or so .
