Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
First I have researched the NSDAR policy re: Ordering information. It requires a letter with the patriot's file number and $40.00 for non-memters, one hour (minimum) work, finding and copying what is needed. If nothing is found (too bad)
. This locating and copying material is in Documentation Files, however the library does not have a doc. file for every patriot in the DAR index. It also includes copies from books, journals, manuscripts, etc. The price includes 10 pages of copies. There is a limit of 2 names per request.
If all that is needed are some copies of material from books, magazines, microfilm and microfiche the charge is $15. for non-members 10 copies. This is considered phootocopy service.
I heard back from a Tyler, Texas DAR group, but they were looking for the Neeley lady in question. She would be in her 80's now. I will also check the Genealogy Society there for the William Cobb, Sr. and Jr. line. The information may have been from a bible.
To all interested in Sally (Whitehead) Cobb (Mrs. Marston/Mastin) Mead.
CORRECTION:
Jackie Duncan Youngblood believes that her ancestress Sallie or Sarah Whitehead Cobb was the daughter of William Cobb Sr. and Bathsheba Whitehead b. abt 1787. She doesn't think the mother was Sally (Woolfolk) at all or a STancil.
She thinks the MEAD genealogy mistakenly put the marriage of Marston Mead and Sarah Woolfolk down (1806) instead of a later marriage of Joseph Woolfolk's dau. Sarah to Cowl's Mead in 1846.
I'm keeping an open mind about all of this, since Stith Mead, the older (half)brother of Marston wrote it up in his memoirs in 1829, long before the 1846 marriage of the other Sarah Woolfolk.
My mother ran off when I was 2. I never got to know her side of the family.
Now some 50+ years later I would like to trace her line. I dont have much.
All I know is a Sarah Cobb (no dates) married a Frank Clubb (no dates) and
had a child Mary Elizabeth Clubb b. 26-Aug. 1861 in Madison Co., Mo. And
died 25 Dec. 1929 who inturned married an Ephriam Randolph Welker b. 19
Feb. 1860. They had my grandmother Lottie Ardella Welker b. 23 Feb. 1902
Lottie married a Erman Clifford Grayson. In Phelps Co., Mo.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Lucy Cobb Institute was founded in 1854 and closed in 1994. It was started by T. R. Cobb and other outstanding men of Athens, GA and named after his daughter Lucy who died of scarlet fever. There is a wonderful book written by Phinizy Spaulding and printed by the Georgia Southern Press in Athens in 1994. It has a lot of photos and lists and copies of letters. I have a copy and did not find your ancestress' on the alumni list which is incomplete - I didn't find mine there either. Email me directly if you need more information. Susan Frank

Just recently saw a posting on Asa Cobb of Owenton, KY that was mailed to me by the County Clerk of Owenton.
He is in my direct Cobb Line. She mentioned she had pages of Cobb information. Asa died Aug. 28, 1852 and is buried in the old section of Mussel Shoals Cemetery, Owen County, KY.
Anna O'Banion Cobb is not listed in the cemetery. My date of death is Sept. 1877 age 79 in Owen County, KY
Thomas Cobb ,married to Pamela Ingram. was a son. His son Jasper Thomas Cobb married Eveline O'Banion. She died Sept. 3, 1927 and was called Lina, Perelina .
She may had died in Indiana and had her funeral in Owenton.
I have the date and cost of the casket only, no death certificate. Jasper Thomas(Jack) Cobb and "Lina" had 13 children. All but one lived. One of his daughters "Annie" married to Oscar David Lancaster of Owenton, KY was my grandmother.

I am looking to find information on Lucinda Ann Cobb and her father, William B. Cobb from Illinois.
My present e-mail address is billandpat31(a)attbi.com. I have changed it with the ancestry.com and they said it was changed across the board. It looks as if that has not happened since this board still has my old address.
Does anyone have access to the 1930 census that could do a look-up for me.
My g-uncle, F. Max COBB, age 32 should appear in Scranton, Lackawanna Co.,
PA. Roll M626_2052, Image # 0955, Page 12B, ED #70. Ancestry.com says the
page is missing.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

A Cobb Y-chromosome genealogical DNA project was established today at
Relative Genetics www.relativegenetics.com . There are now over 600 such
surname DNA studies, that enable determination of which branches share an
ancestor on the direct paternal line. Relative Genetics will provide 26
locus analysis for each participant. Any Cobb (or Cobbs) male representing
any branch from the U.S., U.K. or elsewhere is welcome. I am serving in
the non-compensated capacity of liaison for the project and will be happy to
attempt to answer any questions.

My Jocob H. Cobb was born about 1803, place unknown, may have married in Baldwin Co., GA 26 Feb. 1826, perhaps to Martha Anne Smith. I don't think he is the Jacob in the 1820 census cause he would be too young, but it could be his father.
