Tennessee", originally published in 1968 by Cully Alton Cobb.
Thus far, 80 people have subscribed for 110 copies. The publisher has a 300

Hi Betty,
Thanks for the reply. Sam was born in 1889 in Arkansas, I'm not sure but i think in May. He passed away in Dec 1965 in Oklahoma. He married Rebecca Mankins in Arkansas in 1906 (Ihave a copy of their marriage certificate), they also had one son Frank. Frank is my Grandfather. Sam had a half brother named James and we think there was also a sister. I've been looking for years for Sam's father and mother, I've sent off for his social security info but have not got anything back yet. I sure hope this helps.
Can you tell me why your interested in Sam?
Thanks

Message Board Post:
Our great-great-grandmother, Sarah Cobb, daughter of Reuben S. Cobb and Almira Hopkins, was born in Jennings Co., Indiana, about 1839. In 1858, in Porter Co., Indiana, she married Elmore Mundell. They had two children, Sarah and Charles. In 1861, Elmore enlisted in the army and went off to fight the Civil War. Shortly thereafter, he wrote a letter to his parents (we have a copy of it) saying that all Sarah could have was her bed and that they weren't to let "those Cobbs" have his children. Did Sarah go back to her mother? To California? It could have been Mars - we don't have a clue. All we know for sure is that when Elmore came home at the end of the war, the two children were living with his parents and stayed there. Shortly before he remarried in 1870, he divorced Sarah - not an everyday occurrence in those days. By that time, Sarah's family had moved back to Howard Co., Indiana, and her father and his third wife later went to Missouri, but we haven't been able t!
o find a trace of Sarah after she left the farm in Lake Co., Indiana. ("Footloose" appears to be a family trait. We know son Charles was in Chicago in 1888 when his paternal grandfather died, but it took 28 years to find out that he was in northerna Michigan in 1900, after which he disappeared again.)
Any light anyone can shed on the later whereabouts of this wandering ancestor will be great appreciated.

Hi Jeanette, I was just wondering if you have learned where your Ebenezer B. Cobb was born. Have you tried to get his death certificate from the state or info from the cemetary? Have you learned anything else about him in the two years since your posting? Was he part of the Cobb's from NJ?
