Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I just wanted to let you all know I will be posting information on my Cobb family
research on the web. It will be in an ongoing research journal type of format.
Every week I will post a new piece of the research to the site. I thought this
would be a good way to get my research out and allow others access to it. The
other thing that I thought would be good is you could see how I reached my
conclusions. If you would like to visit the first issue you can find it here:
http://www.themestream.com/articles/122932.html
I have all kinds of ideas. Biographies on certain Cobb individuals... I'm so
excited.

Hello Cobb and Cobbs family -
I had recently learned that our family name of "Cobb" started out as "Cobbs" in Kent England. So, don't discount any "Cobbs" in your checking as I did, it was a big mistake. Thanks to a newly found distant cousin Mike R. Cobb, put me straight again. Thanks Michael. God bless, peace, prayers, and blessings, Dolores Cobb Phifer

Looking for info on the wives of GEORGE NEWTON COBB. His 2nd wife, HARRIET LOUISE "LOU" BILBERRY nee' FITZGERALD is my g-g-grandmother. She was born in 1861 and died in 1917. "LOU" first husband was GEORGE BILBERRY and he died in 1883. She in buried in Clark County, AR. Her sister, IRENE FRANCES "FANNIE" FITZGERALD (1852-1896), was George's first wife. There is more on this family at the Warren Hist. Soc. library.
This COBB family was researched by Marie COLBURN,
These lived in an area of Warren Co PA known as Spring Creek
there was a place called "COBB'S CORNERS" the area still exists but they
also had their own rural cemetery which fell into the swamp. records of
burials were kept at the church near by and that also is gone, A young
family now owns this property, the town has put up 1 marker showing only
where the cemetery used to be. there are NO records left.

Hi- all-
I am trying desperately to find out who the parents of Ollie Columbia
Anna Cobb were. Ollie was born July 10, 1885- place unknown- she
married Mattison Doyle Wilcher- Oct. 1, 1905- New Albany, Miss.- died
March 11, 1938- Scurry CO.,Texas.
According to the children- her father's name was William Daniel Cobb and
Margaret Scott- I have been unable to locate any info that supports or
disproves this so far.
I have located her grave and two tiny newspapers articles mentioning her
illness (pneumonia) and death- but no obituary, no death certificate
(she died at home and was buried by her husband and children)- her
husband did not report her death to a Justice of the Peace or to a
doctor.
Ollie is my brick-wall so if anyone has any info on her or her parents-
I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Paula McMullen

Amos, son of SIMEON and Olive BALL of Vermont his wife was Jerusha JEWELL
I Last October I posted this query at Genforum COBB;
While wandering in Spring Creek Warren Co PA, I stumbled upon the gravesite
of
Amos COBB, born June 2, 1845, died Dec. 29, 1874
Also on the same marker, is what must be his sister
Addie A. COBB BABCOCK , born May 20, 1848, died Dec 19 1895.
These seem to be the children of Ira COBB, and Jerusha JEWELL, who married
Nov
30 1830 in Vermont.according to the IGI.
They also had a son Ira, born 1832 Vermont
Can anyone fill in the blanks here I have no other info on this one but
other COBB in
this same area. Also called EAST BRANCH Warren Co PA.
I also do think they tie in to the COBB in Gerry, and town of Poland and
Carroll,
Chautauqua co NY
I recieved this reply from Paul COBB
Dee,
In my own search of Taunton,MA Cobb families I came upon this research by a
Mr. & Mrs. Fish of Demarest, NJ as it was reported in 1975 to the OCHS
there.
According to Chester (NH) Town Records, Book C, p. 236,
"Simeon Cobb m. Olive ____.
Children: Henry, b. 11/26/1804;
Ira, b. 3/1/1808;
Mary, b. 8/9/1810;
Lydia, b. 2/18/1813; and
Daniel, b. 5/14/1815.
That is a small part of 3 typewritten pages concerning families and deeds of
land of Daniel and David Cobb of Windham, VT and other locations. A
handwritten addition says the research had been done over 30 years and
believe it is connected to Simeon Cobb of Taunton, MA."
Ira Cobb above is very likely this Ira Cobb of your line of research. I hope
this helps if you have his siblings to confirm that line.
So now we ALMOST have the beginning and end of this line
