For those of you who asked me about Canadian links and
Newfoundland information, here are a few that I put together
for you to check out.
They have provided a wealth of information online and you
may find your English ancestors on some of them. Many
migrated from England, Wales and various other parts during
the late 1700's and throughout the 1800's. Some of them
stayed in Newfoundland while others moved to other Maritime
Provinces as well as Maine and other States in the U.S. due
to the trading involved with the fisheries and furs.
I also have lots of links to every province in Canada and
will post those to the lists if anyone is interested.
Happy Hunting,
Lori-Ann

I'm sorry but you have the wrong John Cobb in the line you provided. John
Cobb who married Jane Godfrey was never a son of Henry. He was as old as
Henry and from a different line altogether. That John was from the Taunton
(MA) line; Henry from the Barnstable (MA) line.
Elisha was the son of John and Martha (Nelson) Cobb.
Thanks,
Paul Cobb

Researching the family tree of Joseph (John) Edgar COBB, b. Feb. 11, 1874, d.
June 3, 1936 in Tacoma, Wa. Buried in Sumner, Wa. cemetery. We believe that
his father was Warner COBB, b. in Kentucky and his mother was Alice Carter,
also b. in Kentucky. However, we have found a Warner COBB who was a Probate
Judge in Spokane County, Washington and was a Spokane County Commissioner
when he died Aug. 9, 1911--wife unknown. However, His father was Jesse F.
Cobb of Kentucky and his mother was Sallie A. Lamb.
Certainly hope someone can help me on this family.
Thank you,

I just finished archiving the Cobb list. I am just as confused as I was. I can answer a few questions that might help someone.
Ebenezer Cobb b.15 Sep 1828 Fredonia, NY - d.28 Nov 1912 Sioux Rapids, IA.
He was married on 16 May 1849 [we have Fredonia, NY others say it was Frewsburg, Town of Carroll, NY] to Betsy O. Smith b.16 Oct1833 Stockton, NY, dau. of Christopher & ?Polly? Smith, - d.7 Mar 1893 Sutherland, IA.
Ebenezer and Betsy had 2 children, LeRoy DeForest Cobb b.8 Feb 1852 at either Stockton, NY or Plattsville, WI and Rosalie Cobb b.17 Mar 1869 Plattsville, Grant Co., WI.
I would dearly love to be able to find out more on Ebenezer, but I can never make a definite connection. If anyone would have info that would help I would appreciate the help. Supposedly there are still a lot of Cobb's in WI, some of whom may be related. My husband is a g-g-grandson of Ebenezer and I can fill in almost all the blanks from Ebenezer and Betsy to present day.
I hope this helps, I can be reached at jackyde(a)nwidt.com . My name is Donna Youde.
Great, this was a big help. I also figured out that the John was son of
John Pressley Cobb. Now what about the one unknown?
