Does anyone have the lineage of Ephraim and Rachel Chambers, who were the
parents of Hannah Chambers Cobb, wife of Lyman Cobb? I have a collection of
Lyman Cobb books and would love to find a source for more.
Centennial History of the Town of Drlyden 1797-1897", compiled by Geo. W.
Goodrich
Lyman Cobb- born in 18oo in Canaan, Conn (now call Lenox, Ma. Moved with his
father to Berkshire, NY (Tioga County) and taught school in Slatervillle (
Caroline and Slaterville intermix).Published books in Ithaca, NY (12 miles
West of me in Dryden). The covers were made of thin boards, covered with blue
paper. He then moved to the Town of Dryden and published his first spelling
book, published by Mack & Andrus. He had a sister, Mrs. Thomas Davis who
lived in Dryden from 1840 until her death in 1860.
Lyman was married to Hannah Chambers, daughter of Ephraim Chambers, who lived
on the Dan Rice farm in Ellis Hollow ( which is south west of Dryden and east
of Ithaca.
Can anyone identify these Cobbs and Andersons?

This article is from the April 7 edition of the Leader News of Central
City, Ky.:
Written by Paul Camplin, it is headlined "Cobbs Invented Odd Sport of
Bee Fighting as Family Entertainments." It concerns the decendants of
Bunn and Betty Cobb of Calhoun, Ky. who have gotten together annually
for about 70 years to fight wild bees for fun. The article reads
"Without the use of protective gear, one of the group approaches the
bumblebee hive an whacks it with a stick. All the now angry bees come
flying out, the froup of bee fighters simple fight off the bees as est
they can with large clumps of maple leaves."
The article is illustrated by photos of the members of the Bunn Cobb
family.
This is great, it should go to the Cobb group. I don't have the
documents in question but know that some on the Cobb list do and maybe in
my group also. I will forward on. Thanks! That's what is needed! Just
the ticket!
