Perhaps this is a straw in the wind, but some of you may see reall

BTW, my COBB families lived in the Muscogee/Chattahoochee/Stewart Co. area
of GA by 1840s, from whence they spread across AL, MS, TX and OK.

Spoon Moulds, once the property of Isaac COBB, grandfather of Mr. Wiley

is of brass...and every spoon would be stamped I. C. It is impossible to
tell the age of the mould but as Mr. Wiley COBB is now 78 years of age and
as it was the prperty of his grandfather, it must be near 150 years old.
It is known to ante-date the revolutionary war.

Hi,
I am new to this list and I tried to post my query yesterday, but I don't
think that it went through. I apologize if this is a duplicate.
I seek info on Mary Cobb, born m? d? 1783 in city? North Carolina.
She was the daughter of David Cobb, Jr. and ? - the grand niece of David Cobb
Sr.
She married Benjamin Spain where? when? I have neither her place or date of
death. Did she have any siblings?
I do know that at some point the family (Mary) moved to Ga.
Can anyone answer any of these questions? Your answers sure would be
appreciated.
Thank you
Dyanne
Hi,
I don't know much about James or William Cobb. Family stories have it that
one of them (We believe it was William) got into a fight at the coal mine
with another guy when he was pretty young (in his teens, I think). Anyway,
he thought he had killed the man (he hadn't) and got scared and ran. Story
goes he went south somewhere and was never heard from again.
I did, at one point in my searching come across a William Henry Cobb in a
Geneva County Cemetery Record, Limesprings Cemetery but I don't know who's
William he would be. His birthdate was listed as 4-10-1876 and date of death
as 4-8-1965.
That's all I have on him so far.
Cindy

James Tatton Cobb, b. abt 1868, GA
William Henry Cobb, b. abt 1870, GA

sorry to be so long to reply but I have been out of town.
Records indicate proof for only 2 children of Edward Cobb and Sarah Hackitt.
These were Ebenezer b 13 May 1696 and Mary.
Mary is proven thru a court record. She married #1 Seth Dean, and #2 John
Rosier, and #3 Nicholas Stephens...while she was in the midst of probating the
estate of Seth she was ill and her father Edward Cobb had to testify to the
court she was not goldbricking...I got a copy of this...
It is dated 1722.
Proof for Ebenezer is that Edward deeded him 15 ac land in 1733.
It is of course possible that there were any number of other children born to
Edward and Sarah who died in infancy.
