I want to thank everyone for their responses to my recent email.
Number 1.....Accept my sincere apologies! I was unaware that everyone
had
already seen this particular email before. I have not been on the
internet
long enough I guess.
Number 2.....Most importantly, it was NEVER meant to be malicious in any
way. It was sent for FYI purposes only!
Sincerely
Judy Brown Rasmussen
While I know the sender means well, this is a hoax and has been making the
rounds for months. I have been receiving it for months and having worked for
a member of Congress, this is not how Congress works.
Could we not put anything on this mailing list except material relating
specifically to Cobb research please. This is not the only time I've received
material not specifically related to the surname I am researching, and this is
why I subscribed to this list.
Thanks very much.

CNN stated that the Government would in two weeks time decide to allow
or not allow a charge to your phone bill equal to a long-distance call
each time you access the internet.
The address to find your Congressperson is:
http://www.house.gov/writerep
Please visit the address above and fill out the necessary form! We all
were aware that the Government has been pressured by the telephone
companies to consider such a charge and now it's reality! If EACH one
of us forward this message on to others in a hurry, we may be able to
prevent this injustice from happening.
Please take the time and visit the url address above and follow the
instructions... Your vote may make a BIG difference.....None of us
should be charged a long-distance call each time we access the
Internet....
In addition, please forward this to all your friends and relatives who
also access the Internet..

I am seeking connection to anyone who is a descendant of Wm B. Cobb and
Barsheba Whitehead. They had Wm B.m, Arthur, Jerry, Pharoah, Charles,
Sylvester Young, DAvid, Penelope, Stephen and TAbitha. I need info on
Arthur, Jerry, Charles, Sylvester and Stephen. Would appreciate anyone
who is connected and can give some clues as to where these sons ended up.
Thanks. BJ

The only info I have been able to find on this Cobb ancestor is she was
born 1858 and died 1936 in Coffee County, Tenn. I do not know where she
was born. She married John Wiley Lawson in Franklin County, Tenn. She
probably lived in Lincoln County, Tenn until 1871 when it became Moore
County, Tn. I need to know who her parents were and her brothers and
sisters. I know she had one sister who married a Couser in Moore County
and she had one brother named Marion Rice Cobb. Would most appreciate
any info anyone can help me with on the great grandmother.
Dear List: I'm looking for the family of Benjamin F. Cobb, b.abt 1827 in
RI. Hi father was supposedly Henry
Cobb, b. RI and his mother supposedly was Arabella Lewis, also b. in RI.
Benjamin married Mary Ann
Warren from Ct. They lived in Ct. and later in West Troy, NY. Their
children were: Orson Franklin, b. 1848,
Norwich, Ct.; Nancy A. b. 1849, Norwich, Ct.; Mary Ella b.1852, Norwich Ct.;
Charles Arthur b. abt. 1866,
West Troy NY; H.K. b. abt 1869, West Troy, NY; and Alice Van b. 1871,
Watervliet, NY. I'd love
to hear from anyone who knows anything about this Cobb family, including the
Lewis and Warren branches.
Thanks, Judy
There is a new website that I think everyone will find
facinating. Its called "Random Acts of Genealogical
Kindness." These are volunteers who will video cemeteries
or homeplaces, or do lookups in the counites where they
live. I think that this could be one of the best ideas to
come along in free genealogy research yet!
http://www.rootsweb.com/~tnstewar/genkin.htm
Please pass it along to fellow researchers.
