Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Putting in our lines turned out to be a good idea! It looks like Shaunna

ancester!
Thanks a lot! Have a great weekend! :-)

Hi there,
The genealogy internet community has lost a member of the family. His name
was John Paul Gnade. He was very active on the list and in the Arkansas
Genealogy Community and he will be sadly missed. I encourage you to stop by
Rita's page listed below and sign the guest book. She will print it out and
send it to the family. Please take a second and pay homage to a fellow
researcher.
Thank you,
Tracey

names alphabethcially like on the Catawba County, NC homepage, instead of
having to scroll through all the queries.

Hi again folks...
Sorry about being sooo chatty today but I wanted to explain some list stuff
to you. I've had a lot of complaints recently about being unsubscribe from
the list. Some folks have been unsubscribed and didn't ask for it. I am
working to resubscribe a bunch tonight.
The reason is that the lists are run by a computer. When the computer
receives a piece of mail to send out, it sends it to all the members of the
list. If, for some unknown reason, the mail doesn't make it to your
mailbox, the computer then receives a "bounce" notice. If your account
bounces over 4 times in a set amount of time, the computer automatically
removes your name from the list. I'm certainly not removing anyone's name
on purpose...if I ever need to, I assure you that I'll let you know why! :)
I just didn't want anyone to think I was trying to run them off!
So, what happens if you have been removed from the list...let me know! I'll
resubscribe you ASAP!
Thanks!
Tracey

Hi again,
I know that there have been rumblings on some of the surname lists for a
list homepage. I'm all for it but right now I'm runnning a little behind. I
just volunteer to do a few Arkansas GenWeb pages so it will be a few weeks
before I could start working on a list page. I'd love to hear your ideas on
it. What would be helpful?
I've set up a system on my business home page that many of you have used to
subscribe and unsubscribe to the lists that I own. I thought that might be
helpful on each lists homepage. What do you think?

John Cobb (b 1862) - moved to Alabama in early 1900's
William Pinkney Cobb (1866-1948) m Sarah Jane Huffstickler (1874-1913)
Anson/Anzin B. Cobb (1868-1943) m Genora E. Wilson
Martha Cobb ( b 1873) m Robert Craig
John Harmon, William W. and Richard J. are Civil War vets. MUCH TO
SHARE!!. I would be greatly interested in finding parents of William Cobb (1)
or Martha Harmon or info on any descendants. William could be descended
from Ambrose Cobb, who's sons were in the Lincoln Co. area at the time.
