Charlie; John Webster Coats married Elizabeth Massengale after his first
wife, Ellen Brantley, died about 1856. They had four daughters, but I
don't have that info handy at this time. Will post it later.

I'm looking for any info regarding a Coats family, possibly from TN, who had
two children, Elizabeth "Bettie" born abt 1833, and Robert H. Coats, born
abt 1835. They were the children of Alatha Johnston Coats. The children's
father, given name unknown, died shortly after the birth of his second
child. I'm hoping someone on this list knows of this family and can help
me. Thank you. Fran in CA franmrlo(a)cwnet.com

John COATS, Sr. is listed in Household #122 in Newberry Twp., Miami Co., OH on June 1, 1830. He is age 60-70 (b. 1760-1770)
John COATS, Jr. is listed in Household #123 in Newberry Twp., Miami Co., OH on June 1, 1830. He is age 30-40 (b. 1790-1800)
Who were John COATS, Sr.'s parents? I know these must tie in with my COATS because here are the families I've found in this same census who are related to me:
Abraham MOTT - Household #96, age 20-30 (married James' daughter, Abigail COATS)
John JACKSON - Household #100, age 20-30 (married James' daughter, Elizabeth COATS)
James COATS - Household #129, age 50-60
Mark COATS - Household #130, age 20-30 (son of James COATS)
Because John COATS, Sr. & John COATS, Jr. lived so close to these other households, they must connect. Please let me know if you have any information.
Lisa
Char; Yes indeed. The transcribed record I have has more detail. The
Cynthia that Kay sent is indeed the child of James Robert. I'm ashamed
to say I ordered this, when I already had a more complete copy that I
got from Annie Sue Coats Sumrall, in 1993 at Meridian, Ms.

Oh, sorry, the cost for the 12 marker test is $99.00 plus $2.00 postage...
Then if you want to upgrade to 25 markers at a later date, I think it's
$98.00, no need to submit a new sample, they use the one you sent for the 12
Marker test
There is a link on the DNA page that gives all the particulars on costs
etc....
