I am looking for a Morgan Family who lived in Perla, Arkansas in March of 1894. My Granduncle Charles Edward Coatney lived and died there at that time. In one of his letters he makes mention of a Morgan Family living close by and they were close friends. My Grandfather Benjamin Harrison Coatney, the brother of Charles Edward Coatney, married Hattie Magnolia Morgan in Indiana. I have a lot of information on my Morgan family in Indiana but do not know if my Indiana Morgan's and the Arkansas Morgan's who befriended CEC are connected. Any and all help appreciated. Don Coatney
Cindy, would love to hear what information you have on the Coatneys and
Toons. It's always nice to find another cousin. I am going to send your
email along to the Coatney list and let everyone else know about you. We
have lots of nice cousins on this Coatney list. They are all very helpful.
You can join the list if you like or just let the individual people email
you if they have or want info from you. I will be willing to share what I
have with you. I would love to have information on Lillie and John's
children as I just have the children listed. I look forward to hearing from
you!

It is rumored that James and Mary Bankson (touring actors at the turn of the century) were somehow related to Addison Phillips son of Emeline Coatney born March 22, 1825 and John Thomas Phillips. I am looking for any information on this couple. Don Coatney

Crashes, 9 deaths blamed on weather
2002-03-04
From Staff and Wire Reports
A winter storm that dumped up to 9 inches of snow on parts of
Oklahoma this weekend was blamed for nine traffic deaths and
dozens of vehicle crashes.
The blustery storm left the state Saturday afternoon, but
bitter-cold temperatures and fierce winds remained Sunday.
Some roads were icy, and others were covered with snow drifts.
Four people were killed Saturday as a result of crashes on icy
roads, bringing the total of traffic deaths blamed on winter
weather to nine since Friday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said
Sunday.
Plus, three people were killed Sunday on the Muskogee Turnpike
when the driver lost control on a patch of ice, the patrol said.
Dead are:
Fred Hilbert Jr., 44, Claremore.
Loretta Hilbert, 43, Tulsa.
Lloyd L. Moore, 57, Huntington, Ark.
Charles Andrew Brown, 61, Poteau.
Constance Brown, 54, Poteau.
Beatrice H. Gregg, 77, Poteau.
Amy Lynn Nutz, 20, Las Vegas.
Hilbert was killed when his pickup lost control on a patch of ice
about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on the Muskogee Turnpike in Muskogee
County, the patrol said.
His truck crossed the center median and hit head-on a pickup
driven by Moore, troopers said. Hilbert's pickup spun around and
was hit by a tractor- trailer driven by Randy L. Peper, 36, of
Adair. Peper was not injured.
Hilbert and his passenger, Loretta Hilbert, were pronounced dead
at the scene, the patrol said. Moore also died at the scene, the
patrol said.
Marjorie K. Moore, 54, of Huntington, Ark., a passenger in
Moore's pickup, was listed in fair condition at a Muskogee
hospital with internal, hand and hip injuries, troopers said.
All were wearing seat belts, the patrol said.

Hello Coatney Cousins,
There is an article in my morning paper that disturbs me very much. I have been unable to confirm that it is our Loretta.
The article states:
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report, the crash killed Lloyd L. Moore, 57 of Huntington; Fred Hilbert Jr., 44 of Claremore, Okla.;and Loretta Hilbert,43 of Tulsa.
The accident occurred on the Muskogee Turnpike in Muskogee County, due to icy roads.
Maybe there is some one on the list than can tell me this is or is not our Loretta. I only met her one time, but we use to correspond a lot, in doing research on our families over the years.
