Sorry to hear about your misfortune Steve. Luckily you stayed positive and
said it could have been worse. Hope you get yourself back on track soon and
that the damage to your house doesn't take too long to sort out. Right pain
though, isn't it?

Folks, I would just like to inform you all of a very near miss that occured
yesterday.
Seeing as it is half-term I took my sons to stay with my parents.
I arrived home at 9.30 pm and as I drove into my road I saw 4 police cars.
Thinking that one of my neighbours had had a fight with his spouse I turned
into the entrance to my driveway when I had to slam on my brakes.
There in front of me was my computer...smashed.
It seems that three Albanians had considered that they had more right to
this machine than me and had therefore used a pry-bar on my windows causing
between £3-4000 worth of structural damage. They had then ransacked the
house taking only the computer and all my software discs.
Luckily a neighbour saw them entering and called the police who were on the
scene within a few minutes.
Unfortunately the police failed to catch them but the one carrying the
computer threw it at the police smashing it.
After a major problem several years ago I am now very careful with back-ups.
The computer has two hard drives. My Coath research is backed up to the
second drive after every use and the entire hard drive is copied every week.
In addition all my stuff is backed up onto CD's weekly.
Luckily the damage to the computer is cosmetic, all be it substantial
cosmetic damage but the cd back-ups are shatterd.
If they had not been spotted and they had got away that would have been the
end of all of this research.
In all it could have been much worse. It looks like my next step will be to
invest in one of those fireproof safes to keep my back-ups in.
I have the honor to be
With the highest respect
Your faithful & obedient servant

Hi all,
For anyone who has followed the family tree lines beyond the Coath name, my

In case anyone wants to add him to their tree, I will help you follow the
line......

Charles William Coath (1909 - 1967) (my dad)
Patricia Susan Coath (1953 - ) Me (known as Sue) married name - Lemon
Sharon Michelle Lemon (1975 - ) my daughter
Lewis Michael Tyler (2004 - ) born 21st March 2004 (mothers day)
I realise this is now quite an obscure link, but the information is there
for anyone who wants it.
