Hello all,
I was just sent this from another list.
The information it contains is amazing. Many records I have never found
online just appeared.
Just type in a surname and it opens 12 windows

Hi Steve (and other relatives),
I've just had a look at the John Coath tree--very impressive, and very
useful, Steve.
Two points, however:
The log-in kept me out several times, probably because of my terrible
typing, but I wonder whether it might be useful to set a limit on the
number of attempts to enter. Of course, that may just be a little paranoia
at work, and it's probably not worth the fuss.
Second thing:
I see that you've used my source notes from the GEDCOM file I sent you.
Some of those notes read like notes to myself, and they certainly show gaps
in my research. Don't remove them, but I'll try to redo some of them to
make them of more use to others.

Further to my last message I have decided to password protect the Family
Tree pages.
I am just about to send the passwords out to all of you separately. If I do
it on this forum it will be accessible to anyone who looks through the
archive messages.
The other thing is that if you wish I can extend the family tree's up to the
present day.
(all the information is, after all, in the public domain and is readilly
available) however. I will only do this is the majority request it, if there
are any objections then I will leave it as it is at present.

Hello everyone,
I have finally decided after much soul searching to put the family tree's on
my web site.
Could anyone who has a problem with this please contact me. I have not
however included anyone living, or at least I should not have, however one
or two may have slipped through.
The John Coathe line is already up with the Edward Coath line following
shortly.
Address is as follows www.coath.info

Apologies for the long delay folks but I have been having a few computer
problems.
I consider myself knowledgable with regards to computer security, I keep my
system up to date with the latest patches and update my anti-virus weekly. I
also use a firewall to ensure that my system is safe from malicious
electronic trespassers.
For the last few months I have sat back listening to the tales of woe from
all those who have been hit by all the new virus's(Virrii?) many a time
mentioning the fact that if only people would keep their anti virus updated
then this would not happen.
(I use windows ME so therefore the latest virus do not affect it)
I recently decided to upgrade my computer and seeing as I had a few pennies
to spare I decided to go through the roof and build the most powerful system
I could afford.
As a "thank you" for spending so much the shop threw in a copy of Windows XP
(the latest and greatest)
I dutifully backed up all of my research files onto disks and wiped the hard
drives.
I started the new system up and immediatly updated it from Microsofts
website with the latest patches. I then downloaded the latest anti virus
protection and reinstalled all the research.
When I rebooted I realised there was a serious error, in fact many of them.
Lots of files were missing or corrupted, years of research down the drain.
During the 20 minutes total that I was online downloading the update patches
to ensure I did not get affected by the virus currently doing the rounds, I
managed to pick up a virus. In fact I picked up 17 of them.
I have had to reload the computer from scratch and then check all the files
against the paper copies I have and type them all in again.
On a more happy note, I have just returned from another trip to Polperro in
the parish of Lansallos in Cornwall.
I have managed to locate all the Coath gravestones in the area as well as
photographs of two former Coath homes, Raphael Manor, seat of the lords of
Lansallos manor, which was occupied by Coaths from 1819 untill 1955 and
Lilly House which is now owned by a member of the UK soap opera "Coronation
Street".
I have also purchased my own web site, WWW://coath.info on which I intend to
put some of my research.
Would anyone have any objections if I use some of the photo's I have been
sent?
Coupled with this, I have an e-mail forwarding service I am able to offer to
any of you that are interested.
This is completely free of charge.
You still keep your old e-mail address and it simply redirects mail to it.
You can have "any name you want"@coath.info. So if your e-mail is
Robert616713(a)xyz.demon.co.uk, you can have Robert(a)coath.info.
All mail sent to robert(a)coath.info is then automatically forwarded on to
Robert616713(a)xyz.demon.co.uk without you even noticing.
The other advantage is that if you change your internet provider you do not
need to change the e-mail address.
If anyone is interested then just drop me a line.
