I don't know if they'll ever get back on line at this rate....:( What the
BLM website has to do with the Indian Trust Accounts I'll never know....but
Interior just disconnects it's entire system when the judge orders
this....although I must say I've not been able to get into the BLM site for
several months anyway....

JUDGE ORDERS US INTERIOR COMPUTERS OFFLINE
A judge has ordered the US Interior Department to disconnect
from the Internet all computer equipment holding data
related to trust accounts it manages for American Indians, a
decision that could hurt large sections of the agency's
computer network. Whether the department has been able to
keep trust data secure is a key issue in an almost
10-year-old court battle.

Subject: Quaker Cemetery: Jane T. Rogers???
Date: Thu, 20 Oct 2005 12:06:29 -0400
Hello to my ever resourceful Bush River friends: this week we found a new
tombstone that I wrote to you about earlier -- it was U [or J] T, 1798. In
looking at our cemetery map, I see that nearby is a A.T (1785) and a Jane T.
Rogers. So we have a little grouping with T as part of their names.
I wondered if we might be able to track down what the "T" stands for. Does
anyone have information on Jane T. Rogers? In previous surveys she has
been identified as Janet Rogers, but her footstone definitely has J.T. R.,
so we interpret that there is a space between the Jane and the T in her
name.
Any thoughts or clues on this?
Thanks,
JudyR

Subject: New Feature and Conference Update
Date: Mon, 17 Oct 2005 18:00:35 -0500
To Coats group manager,
Conference: We are pleased to inform that the registration to the
conference this year met our expectations and we are closing registration
today. Next week all registrants will receive an e-mail asking for
confirmation of the Groups that they manage so that we can add Group names
to the name tags.
New feature: members can now upload their pedigrees to their personal
pages. The pedigrees will be seen only by those who are a match, and by
the Group Administrator at the Members section of the Project Profile
page. For the member, there is a tab "GEDCOM - Family Tree" in the
personal page that explains how to upload the file. The "Y-DNA Matches"
section will show an icon for all the matches that have uploaded their
pedigrees. Group Administrators should urge their members to upload their
pedigrees as we believe that this is an enhancement that will help people
verify immediately possible connections.
E-mail anytime!

Following are my notes on Benjamin
Date: 8/21 2:25 PM From: sheldoe7(a)ra.msstate.edu
Found Abraham and Margaret Coats on the 1840 census in Franklin
County, Al. They are also on the 1850 Franklin County census. On
the 1855 Alabama State census I found --Abraham Coats with 3
males under 21, 1 male over 21 and 4 females under 21 and 1 over
21.
I also heard from an Ellen Caldwell (emcFamily@ hotmail.com) who
sent me a family group sheet to wit:
Husband-Benjamin Coats, born 1800-1810, Paducah, KY, McCraken
County, death early 1840's.
Wife-Annie Delaney Coats, born 1790-1800, death early 1840's. The
Delaneys came into Virginia from Ireland and maybe France as
indentured servants. They were Huguenots.
Children-Abraham Coats, born 1822, TN, married Margaret Melinda
Johnson circa 1840 in Franklin County, Al. They lived in Moulton,
Alabama.
Martha Coats, born 1830.
Sarah Jane Coats, born 7 Nov 1831, baptism, 18 Aug 1866, Rock
Creek Church of Christ, Rock Creek, Colbert County, Al. Death 20
Aug 1899 in coal Hill, Johnson County, AR. Buried 21 August 1899,
Srygley Cemetery, Coal Hill, Johnson Co., Arkansas. Spouse James

VA CITY OFFERS INTERNET CARRIED ON POWER LINES
The city of Manassas, Virginia has become one of the first
communities in which high-speed Internet services over power
lines are commercially available. For years,
broadband-over-power-line technology, which allows access to
the Internet through any electrical socket in the home or
office, has been touted as a potential alternative to
service from cable and phone companies.

YAHOO TO LAUNCH LIBRARY DIGITIZATION PROJECT
Yahoo is launching a library-digitization project to rival
Google's controversial program. Yahoo is working with the
Internet Archive, the University of California and others on
a project to digitize books in archives around the world and
make them searchable through any Web search engine and
downloadable for free. Unlike Google, Yahoo will scan and
digitize only texts in the public domain, except where the
copyright holder has expressly given permission.
