See forwarded messages.
Rebecca Pearson (1779-1868) married Edward Hawkins and their son Mark
married Jane Hunter (1810-1848), daughter of Joseph Hunter and Elizabeth
Abernathy. In other words, John Abernathy and Rhoda Davis had a
granddaughter Jane Hunter (1810-1848) who married Mark Hawkins whose
mother was Rebecca Pearson. Mark had sisters Joanna (married John
Whitman) and Martha (married 1821 Thompson Young, nephew of Mary Young
Hunter). That is, Thompson Young was the son of James Abram Young who
had a sister Mary who married Nathan Hunter (Sr.). Nathan Hunter (Sr.)
was the (other) grandfather of Jane Hunter (1810-1848) who married Mark
Hawkins whose mother was Rebecca Pearson. Rebecca was the daughter of
Enoch Pearson. Wow, I need to see all this "mapped" out. Let me know,
Val, if I misstated anything.
The following came from the data of Lawrence Glenn Hardin
(lawrencehardin(a)netscape.net). I'm trying to figure out if his Enoch
Pearson (son of Enoch Pearson and Margaret Smith) is the same person as
Rebecca's father. Any ideas?
"Enoch Pearson m Tabitha Jacocks b Shrewsbury, NJ (married in 1751) in
VA: Page 223 of UNION COUNTY HERITAGE - SC 1981 says that he went to
Winchester VA where George Washington was teaching surveying and met
Tabitha Jacocks there Her father had bought a plantation near
Winchester, VA. After marrying, they moved back to his PA home. In
1765 they moved to the Sedalia section of Union Co. SC, where they had a
1,000 acre tract. He died during the Am. Rev. after the defense of
Charleston. He was a Patriot, but his sons were Tories. This Enoch
Pearson was the son of Enoch Pearson b in England and Margaret Smith.
Tabitha Jacocks was the daughter of Jonathan Jacocks" (from Lawrence
Hardin lawrencehardin(a)netscape.net).
Don't forget to read the forwarded message and save or print for future
reference. (This Pearson line is said to have been associated with the
FOX founder of the Quakers.) By the way, Mark Hawkins and Jane Hunter
are buried at Chapman-Summers Cemetery (of the Dunkers) in Newberry Co.
SC.

Char, William Cole was son of John Cole Sr. William was married to Rachel
Paschall. William was listed in Bush River death records as dying 1803 , I
believe. Rachel , his widow married Providence Williams of Newberry Co, and
a
deacon of the church. Best regards. Barry

Hi Janet,
Yes Mary and her sister Rebekah both preceded Henry in death. I have copies
of several of the wills mentioned and also a copy of John Jr's will dated
1865, and the state settlement naming the children of he and Mary Cleland.
I'll see what data I have on Mary's marriage to Mary "Polly" and maybe a
little on Hannah, ( I believe I have her as "Collier" sp)
The Chaotes, Waldrops, and Sterlings were all collaterally married in Newberry.
I'll get back soon.
Regards, Doyle
