In looking for info on my John Greene COATE, I went to Charlotte's page
and noticed a marriage between William Coats and Mary Green 11/17/1757
in SC. The GREEN name is a middle name in my family for several
generations and I thought before this that surely there had to be
someone named GREEN somewhere. My John Greene COATE had my ggg
grandfather James Green COATE b ca 1820 in AL, so the age would be okay
to be a son of William & Mary GREEN. Does anyone have any further info
on William and Mary GREEN COATS? You can tell I'm grasping for anything
here! Kay Parker McCary

Hi Norma,
The names don't ring a bell with me, but I feel you just may hear from one
or two COATS researchers on the COATES-L list. I have taken the liberty of
forwarding this message to the list. We would love to have you join us! For
more information, go to the list's home page at
http://www.aa.net/~jdcoates/list/coates-l.htm
Good Luck
John

: I've been researching Coats families in TN. My grandmother was Bertha
Coats.
: Her father was John Thomas Coats (b.12/22/1861). John's father was
Thomas
: Jefferson Coats (b.10/26/1833). They lived in the Blanche and Cashpoint
: communities in TN. Do any of these ring any bells?

: Let me know.

Hello!
Has anyone heard of John Greene COATE? His wife Ann DUNNIGAN was born
Abt 1785 in SC because she was 65 in 1850 in Sumter Co., AL Census
living with her son, Charles Sidney COATS. I haven't found their
marriage either, but I believe all children were born in AL. Thanks a
bunch. Kay Parker McCary, Milam, Sabine County, Texas
