Perhaps its not from the same family, because there are no Emmett or Martin name
in our family that I know of. From my research Richard Coady came to Canada from
Cork, Ireland about 1830 and his children were William, John, Margaret, Ellen,
Mary, Edward, Richard, Catherine, Anne and Johanna. I know that Catherine, Anne
and Johanna move to the States at a young age but have no history on them.
I come from a family of 11 and we are organizing a family reunion for August
4th, 2001. Should you come across any information regarding this, I certainly
would appreciate.
Regards
Diane
I am not a Coady researcher, but have come across several very old books belonging to a Coady family in Columbus Ohio, from the late 1800's to early 1900's Some of the names are John, Margaret, Helen, Mary Catherine, Emmett, and Martin. Would love to find someone researching this line as there were some old news articles etc.. in these books.
Hi Carol!
I don't believe I ever responded to your last message, so I just wanted to take this opportunity to convey my thanks to you for all of your assistance with my query. I have not been too successful with this family line, but I will continue to try to make some headway. Thanks again for trying to help me!!
Molly
Carol, I realize this is an aged message, however, I am renewing a search for data on Coadys from the St. John Newfoundland area (specifically, Outer Cove). The information I have has at least three sons emigrating to the US in late 1890's/1900's
William F.(b:1879), Thomas (b:1889) and Michael (b: ?) Coady. The parents were John Coady and Catherine Pine (or Pyne). All three initially were in Bar Harbor, ME. William settled there, marrying Lillian Smith; Thomas married her sister Ruth and returned to NFL, Michael moved on to NY.
There may have been other men emigrating to US, but are unknown.
Any connection? respond via e-mail @ aim2high(a)aol.com if you would like.
Regards, Ric
