Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
My Coad ancestry is quite distant, but I live in hope that I will get a Coad autosomal DNA match. My Ancestry username is jeanffrench and my relevant tree is called “2012online”.
My 5G grandparents were Ann COAD and John HARRIS (or HARRIES), who married in 1780 at North Hill, Cornwall. John Harris was baptised at North Hill in 1758, but I cannot find a baptism for Ann Coad.
Samuel and Ruth Coad were baptising children at North Hill from 1739 to 1756 (William 1739, Samuel 1743, Samuel 1744, Nicholas 1751, Margaret 1754, William 1756), but there is no record of a child named Ann. It is possible that Samuel and Ruth were Ann's parents given that her assumed birth year falls just outside that range, ie 1759 (Ann Harris died aged 84, widow of John Harris, labourer, in March 1843 at Linkinhorne).
Until evidence proves otherwise, I have assumed that my Ann was the daughter of Samuel and Ann, whose baptism ca 1759 was not recorded at North Hill.
I have Joe Flood's marvellous publication, and recommend it to anyone with an interest in the Coad surname.

This week Ancestry completed most of the revisions of Rootsweb Mailing
Lists. It’s great to have the lists available again! Since it’s been many
months since we were able to share information, I’d like everyone to post
something about your Coad research to get us started.
